Chip Seal Sanborn County Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids and waive any informality in bids. The County board reserves the right to accept the bid which, in their opinion, is the best responsible bid or that which is deemed to be in the best interest of Sanborn County. A strip of freshly applied asphalt approximately 4 inches wide, along the center-line will overlap this strip. (This will be done, or the contractor will create the overlap and reseal the road to obtain a uniform appearance.) No brooming may be done on freshly applied asphalt until the following day, except for the centerline before the second pass is made. 16. Test strip of 300 feet shall be placed for approval prior to starting operations. The cover aggregate may not be placed on the freshly applied asphalt until the asphalt is accepted by Sanborn County and the contractor is given the go ahead. 17. Contractor will apply cover aggregate with a self-propelled spreader. 18. Contractor will furnish a sufficient number of 12 yard or larger trucks to keep continuous operations going. Smaller trucks will not be allowed. All trucks will operate within legal load and speed laws. After a bid is accepted and stockpile location sites are chosen, Sanborn County will determine the haul route for all trucks to use. 19. Contractor will furnish and use at least (2) two self-propelled smooth tire rollers for each oil distributor used, each making (2) two double overlapping passes to set the aggregate. Rolling will begin with (5) five minutes of aggregate application. 20. Contractor provide MC3000 and apply road oil at a rate of .30 gallons per square yard or as directed by Sanborn County. A 25-foot road top is standard width. Copies of Oil Tickets will be delivered to Sanborn County Highway Office as soon as the project is finished. 21. Contractor will provide 3/8-inch quartzite chips. Contractor will apply chips at a rate of 25 lbs per square yard. It will be the contractor's responsibility to get the chips to the project s
