The project is generally described as the structural reinforcement of the CMU bearing wall on plan north so that it is sufficient for lateral earth pressures with hydraulic loads and axial loading. Additional details and order of repairs are listed in the project drawings. The contract shall be awarded on a lump sum basis. Greene County Public Schools (herein referred to as "GCPS") of Stanardsville, Virginia, is requesting bids from qualified Companies to repair the William Monroe High School Field House in accordance with all terms, conditions and specifications as set out in this Invitation for Bid. Greene County Public Schools of Stanardsville ,Virginia reserves the right to cancel this IFB and/or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities in any bid, to award any whole or part of a bid, and to award to the Company whose bid is, at the sole discretion of Greene County Public Schools, determined to be in the best interest of the school district. Project evaluation and award will be accomplished in accordance with this IFB. GCPS will publicly post such notice in eVA (www.eva.virginia.gov) for a minimum of 10 days. 1. PURPOSE The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids from qualified bidders to establish a contract to repair the William Monroe High School Field House. These services are for Greene County Public Schools. 2. BACKGROUND The William Monroe High School Field House was damaged by water in the fall of 2024. The attached documents provide additional details and bidders shall thoroughly examine these documents to become familiar with the project. 3. SPECIFICATIONS / SCOPE OF WORK I. General A. Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, and supplies necessary to provide the services as stated in this IFB. 1. Independent Contractor: The selected vendor will be hired as an independent contractor and thus, agrees and understands that they, the vendor and its employees, are not employed by GCPS. B. Codes, Permits, Fees, Licenses, and Notices 1. It is the responsibility of the Vendor to maintain all required licensing and training for his/her employees to provide the services as stated in this IFB. 2. Vendor shall supply copies of all licenses to GCPS, upon request. 3. A Greene County Business License will be required by the selected vendor. Please contact the Commissioner of Revenue at ktate@gcva.us for more information. A Vendor without a Greene County Business License may submit a bid but will be required to get one prior to starting work. Vendor is responsible for the cost to acquire the license. 4. The selected vendor is responsible for any necessary building permits and shall include these costs in their respective bid price. Please contact the Greene County Building Department at inspections@gcva.us for information. C. Vendor's Duties 1. All work performed under this contract shall be performed according to the specifications in the drawings. 2. Vendor shall provide expected timeline. 3. Vendor shall be responsible for all property damaged, or persons injured, by the Vendor's and/or subcontractors' negligence. This includes, but is not limited to, fences, trees, plants, grass, walks, drives, building surfaces - interior/exterior, visitors, visitors' belongings and vehicles, county equipment, building contents, etc. Note that the selected vendor will be provided an area to drive their work vehicles on the jobsite(s) and conduct their work. D. Material Delivery, Storage and Handling 1. Vendor shall be responsible for (1) the protection of materials from deterioration during delivery, and while stored on site, and (2) all project related deliveries to the site, and materials stored on site. 2. GCPS is not responsible for any material or equipment that is stored or left on GCPS property. 3. Materials shall be stored in a neat and safe way as to prevent any type of accident. E. Procedures for Authority, Workmanship, Inspection and Clean-up 1. Authority: The extent and character of the services to be performed by the Vendor shall be subject to the general control and approval of the GCPS authorized representative. a. The Vendor shall comply with requests and/or orders issued by the authorized representative(s) acting within their authority for GCPS.
