Site Directions: The Trinity Bridge Project is located at the historical mine site at the end of the Chiwawa River Road at Trinity, Washington. From Leavenworth, drive north on US Hwy 2 approximately 15 miles. Turn right onto Hwy 207 and continue for 4.3 miles, then keep right onto Chiwawa Loop Road. Continue approximately 1.2 miles on Chiwawa Loop Road before turning left onto Chiwawa River Rd/NF-6200. Continue north on Chiwawa River Rd/ NF-6200 approximately 20 miles to the Trinity property. The subject parcel is located at the end of Chiwawa River Rd. Base Bid Scope of Work- Under this contract shall be to permit, construct, inspect, and certify a fully functioning bridge over the existing bridge, including all associated site work, appurtenances and building components to meet the intent of this specification and Construction Documents. The project shall meet the requirements of all the governing agencies responsible for review and approval of the project and the associated codes, ordinances and regulations. Under the Base Bid, the existing bridge structure will be left in place, including the abutments, with exception of the railings and wood decking which will be demoed and removed from the site at the contractors expense. Alternative Bid Item 1- This alternative if selected will include the Base Bid and require the removal of the existing bridge structure. The abutments will remain. The bridge shall be relocated within the boundary of the Trinity Site, no greater than 200 Yards from the bridge location. The contractor understands the new bridge will be located in the same horizontal configuration as the Base Bid but may be lowered vertically to achieve better approach grades at the direction of the design engineer. The elevation change of the new bridge construction, all costs and credits associated with the change in elevation and approach depth are included within the cost increase or decrease associated with this Alternate Bid Item. Alternative Bid Item 2- This alternative if selected will include the Base Bid and Alternative Bid Item 1, but will require the Contractor to remove the existing bridge from the property and properly dispose of the bridge at a scrap yard or by other means. All costs and credits associated with hauling off and proper disposal of the bridge are included within the cost increase or decrease associated with this Alternate Bid Item. The Contractor shall provide surveying, materials, equipment, labor, etc. as required and necessary, and bear all expenses incidental to the satisfactory completion of the Work. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to design and install all systems to be integrated into the work such as foundations, gates, guardrails, approached and bridge appurtenances. The design shall be governed foremost by code compliance and secondly by this specification and attached plans. The design shall comply with the 2018 International Building Code and all applicable referenced standards, all local codes and all other regulations governing work, whichever is the most stringent. It is recognized that the construction period is scheduled for construction over several months, during which time hot and cold temperatures shall be anticipated. Temperature fluctuations, dry or wet conditions, snow cover, freezing rains and other weather events may occur. The Contractor shall comply with provisions of ACI 305 for Hot Weather Concrete and provisions of ACI 306 for Cold Weather Concreting when applicable. In no case shall snow melting chemicals be used on concrete slabs. The Contractor shall take all measures possible, such as cooling, heating, covering, tenting, concrete delivery time, etc. to protect concrete from physical damage or reduced strength and to ensure that work continues on the timeline. The Contractor shall not be compensated for extra time or cost for construction during inclement weather, all costs for continuing construction during inclement weather shall be the Contractor's responsibility. The Contractor accepts responsibility and understands that the project will be constructed within a remote forested area during fire danger season and will comply with rules, regulations and guidelines of the US Forest Service for construction therein. Fire suppression equipment and prevention measures shall be on site at all times during construction. In addition, should the work be shut down due to the forest conditions, the Contractor will hold harmless the Yakama Nation and it's agents for the delay in construction schedule. The Engineers Estimate for the project is $680,000 to $831,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
