Site work for a civil project in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work involved in the project generally consists of the construction of 1,800 linear feet of lowpressure sewer main with associated laterals, air release valves, and 7 sewer manholes. All work done under this contract shall be in conformance with the Town of Foxborough Water & Sewer Commissioners sewer use regulations, as amended, the plans, these special provisions, and the 2023 standard specifications for highways and bridges. The base bid is estimated to cost $443,799, and the bid alternate is estimated to cost $317,188. Direct all questions and inquiries in writing to the Town via the method listed above no later than Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The proposed sewer extension project includes an installation of 3 low pressure sewer force main of approximately 1,800 feet along Main Street (Route 140) in the Town of Foxborough. Improvements will also include a pump installation to connect the property at 76 Main St. to the 3 force main. A bid alternate is included which consists of lateral service stubs to each property along the 1,800 feet sewer extension. The limit of work is defined on the approved construction plans. All property outside of the limit of work disturbed by the contractors operations shall be restored to its original condition at the contractors expense. Time for substantial completion of this project is on or before October 31st, 2025. Time is of the essence in the performance of the work of this contract. Bids will not be accepted nor may submitted bids be corrected, modified or withdrawn after the deadline for bids A bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid, including all alternates, is required. Bid deposits, payable to the Town, shall be either in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the total contract The successful bidder will be required to pay the rates set out in any updated prevailing wage schedule. Increases in prevailing wage schedules will not be the basis for change order requests. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating current coverage of the type and amounts set forth in the Project Manual that names the Town as an additional insured. Each bidders attention is directed to the time for completion stated in this document and the provisions regarding the assessment of liquidated damages for failure to complete the work within the time specified. All bids shall be submitted as one ORIGINAL and two COPIES. The Town will award the contract to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The Town may reject any and all bids in accordance with the above-referenced General Laws. In addition, the Town reserves the right to waive any informalities in any or all bids, or to reject any or all bids (in whole or in part) if it be in the public interest to do so. It is the sole responsibility of the contractor downloading these bid documents to ensure they have received any and all addenda prior to the bid opening.
