DISCLAIMER: ALL QUALIFIED BIDDERS/CONTRACTORS INTENT ON SUBMITTING A BID PROPOSAL FOR THIS PROJECT ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER THEIR COMPANY WITH, AND OBTAIN ORIGINAL BID DOCUMENTS FROM, FRAYTAK VEISZ HOPKINS DUTHIE, PC (FVHD) ARCHITECTS-PLANNERS, 1515 LOWER FERRY ROAD, TRENTON, NEW JERSEY 08618, (609) 883-7101. Princeton Board of Education ("Owner") will receive bids for Basin and Tennis Court Site Improvements at Princeton School. Any Bid received after that time shall be rejected. Bid Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate (one original and one copy) in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Owner, bearing the name and address of the bidder, and clearly marked "BID" with the contract title and/or bid number on the outside of the envelope and must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the Owner in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000; and must be delivered to the above place on or before the hour named. The Board of Education and the Architect assume no responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected in delivery. If the bid exceeds $20,000, bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC), in the above-listed classifications prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active Pre-qualification/Classification Certificate shall be rejected as being non-responsive to the bid requirements. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each proposal shall be accompanied by a Consent of Surety from a Surety Company stating it will provide each bidder with separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract sum. Also, Surety agrees to furnish bidder with a Maintenance Bond in required form. FOR BASIN RETAINING WALL: INSTALLATION OF NECESSARY SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROLS; DEMOLITION OF RETAINING WALL IN AREAS SHOWN; DEMOLITION OF CONCRETE IN AREAS SHOWN; DEMOLITION OF FENCE IN AREAS SHOWN; INSTALLATION OF NEW RETAINING WALL; INSTALLATION OF NEW CONCRETE; INSTALLATION OF NEW FENCING; RESTORATION OF SURROUNDING AREAS IN KIND; CONTROL OF ACCESS TO THE CONSTRUCTION AND STAGING AREAS, AND CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC CONTROL; CONTROL OF SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT DURING THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT OR UNTIL PERMANENT GROUND COVER HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED; ENGAGE A CERTIFIED MATERIALS TESTING AND INSPECTION COMPANY TO VERIFY THAT THE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND PROCEDURES RELATED TO ALL SITE WORK IN THE PROJECT, MEET OR EXCEED THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS. ENGAGE A LICENSED GEOTECHNICAL (SOILS) ENGINEER TO DICTATE THE SOIL COMPACTION MEASURES USED TO PREPARE SUBGRADE SOILS FOR SITE WORK. THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER SHALL ALSO REVIEW THE SOIL COMPACTION TEST REPORTS PREPARED BY THE MATERIALS TESTING AND INSPECTION COMPANY AND MUST CERTIFY THAT ALL SPECIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN MET. THIS REQUIREMENT APPLIES TO ALL PAVEMENT AND PAVEMENT AREAS, CONCRETE PLAZAS, UTILITY TRENCHES, AND FOUNDATIONS BELOW WALLS, STAIRS, AND RAMPS; FINAL CLEANUP, OWNER WALK THROUGH AND PUNCH LIST. FOR TENNIS COURTS: INSTALLATION OF NECESSARY SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROLS; REMOVE CHAIN LINK GATES, FENCE RAILS, AND FABRIC (MESH) FROM ALL POSTS AROUND ALL COURTS AND RETAIN ALL PARTS FOR RE-INSTALLATION LATER. DISCARD ANY EXCESSIVELY RUSTY FENCE RAILS AND REPLACE IN-KIND. RETAIN AND PROTECT ALL FENCE POSTS EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE; DEMOLISH TENNIS COURT PAVEMENT AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. STONE BASE TO REMAIN. PROTECT ADJACENT AREAS; BASE BID: KEEP NETS AND POSTS AND RETURN TO OWNER, DO NOT DISTURB POST FOOTINGS; CLEAN OUT EXISTING TRENCH DRAINS; DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ADJACENT TO TENNIS COURT AREA; CONSTRUCT NEW HOT MIX ASPHALT FOR THE TENNIS COURTS PER PLANS; CONSTRUCT TENNIS COURT COATING SYSTEM AFTER PAVEMENT HAS PROPERLY CURED; CONSTRUCT NEW TENNIS COURTS IN THE NEW CONFIGURATION SHOWN ON THE PLANS; RESTORE ALL DISTURBED LAWN AREAS; CONTROL OF ACCESS TO THE CONSTRUCTION AND STAGING AREAS, AND CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC CONTROL; CONTROL OF SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT DURING THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT OR UNTIL PERMANENT GROUND COVER HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED; ENGAGE A CERTIFIED MATERIALS TESTING AND INSPECTION COMPANY TO VERIFY THAT THE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND PROCEDURES RELATED TO ALL SITE WORK IN THE PROJECT, MEET OR EXCEED THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS.
