Demolition, site work, paving, outdoor lighting and renovation of a mixed-use development in Long Branch, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; playground / park / athletic field; for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a medical facility; medical facility; and for the renovation of a medical facility.
**As of July 02,2025, the project was awarded to Shorelands Construction Company Inc., with an awarded amount of$14,675,280.64.** The project proposes renovations and additions to the existing buildings located at 131 Bath Avenue and 307 3rd Avenue, Long Branch, NJ. The scope of work for the projects includes new mechanicals, electrical, plumbing and roof structures. The new Health Center will house a new entrance vestibule, lobby and elevator, new kitchen, classroom and offices, as well as studio spaces and an exterior, covered patio. The new Technology center will house a new entrance vestibule behind a wrap-around, covered exterior porch, new Technology Rooms, offices and an exterior tower element. Site improvements include site clearing, grading, construction of an asphalt parking lot, pickleball courts, amphitheater, tiered retaining wall, 4-sided post clock, concrete walkways, landscaping and lighting. Major bid items include 620 CY Dense Graded Aggregate Base Course, 6" Thick, 920 TN Hot Mix Asphalt 19M64 Base Course, 4" Thick, 460 TN Hot Mix Asphalt 9.6M64 Surface Course, 2" Thick, 75 LF Tiered Retaining/Seating Wall including Belgard Paver Wall, 3' wide, reinforced concrete footing, and decorative concrete cap, 3,190 SY Concrete Sidewalk, 4" Thick, 1,820 LF 9"x18" Concrete Vertical Curb, 1 LS 40'25' Amphitheater Structure, 6 UN Parking Lot Site Luminaire, 33 UN Bollard Lighting Luminaire, and 4 UN Electric Vehicle Charging Station. The project includes specialty trade work (plumbing and gas fitting and all kindred work; steam power plants, steam and hot water heating and ventilation apparatus, and all kindred work; electrical work; and structural steel and iron work). In accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-16, each bid shall be accompanied with a certificate signed by the bidder listing each subcontractor named in the bid for each specialty trade category. The guarantee shall be in the amount of 10% of the bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, except as otherwise provided herein, and may be given, at the option of the bidder, by certified check, cashier's check or bid bond. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certificate of Experience and Certificate of Equipment. Each bid must also be accompanied by a certificate of Consent of Surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey and approved to bond for work on public contracts, guaranteeing that if the proposal of the bidder be accepted they will furnish the bond set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement. Each bid must all be accompanied by a signed and completed Letter of Assent for the required Project Labor Agreement, which has been included within the contract documents. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications, in accordance with applicable laws. The City also reserves the right to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions in a bid, pursuant to Meadowbrook Carting v. Borough of Island Heights Every request for such interpretation should be in writing, addressed to the Engineer, at the address included in the advertisement Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instruction will be in the form of written addenda to the specifications which, if issued, will be mailed by registered or certified mail, by certified facsimile transmission or by certified delivery service to all perspective bidders (at the respective addresses furnished for such purposes) not later than seven (7) days, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays excepted, prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23
