The project consists of the following general work: BASE BID: 1) Implementation of construction traffic controls 2) Implementation of storm water pollution protection 3) Earthwork 4) Installation of new sanitary sewer services and associated facilities 5) Installation of new and abandonment of existing water mains, and associated work on existing services and facilities, new services, and removal of existing fire hydrants and placement of new fire hydrants 6) Installation of new and modifications to existing storm drainage improvements, and bioretention facilities 7) Installation of new street lighting along Green Island Road within the project limits 8) Reconstruction of existing and installation of new curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements, including ADA ramps 9) Roadway rehabilitation (increasing the structural section to match respective increased design Traffic Indexes) of Green Island Road (including widening a portion}, Jim Oswalt Way, Mezzetta Court, Commerce Boulevard, and Hanna Drive, via various methods including new paving, full reconstruction via remove and replace, and reconstruction via FDR-C treated base 10) Removal of existing and installation of new thermoplastic striping and markings, signage and other incidental work 11) Pavement and landscape restoration not limited to road repair, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and handicap ADDITIVE ALTERNATIVE 1 12) New sidewalk along the east side of Commerce Boulevard, between North Slough and Green Island Road ADDITIVE ALTERNATIVE 2 13) New sidewalk along the south side of Hanna Drive, between Commerce Boulevard and North Slough The Engineer's Estimate for the BASE BID project is $10,572,184. The Engineer's Estimate for the ADDITIVE ALTERNATIVE 1 project is $107,267. The Engineer's Estimate for the ADDITIVE ALTERNATIVE 2 project is $365,994. LICENSE No bid will be accepted from a bidder who is not licensed in the State of California as a Class A License, (licensed in accordance with the provisions of Division 3, Chapter 9, of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California). The successful Contractor will be required to furnish, with the Agreement, a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Agreement price and a Payment for Labor and MaterialsBond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Agreement price. The successful Contractor will be required to furnish, prior to issuance of a Notice of Completion, a Warrantee Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the final Agreement price. The successful Contractor shall also furnish Certificates of Insurance evidencing that all insurance coverage required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS has been so secured. All Contract Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City of American Canyon, amounting to ten per cent (10%) of the bid, or by a Bid Bond in said amount, on the form included within the Contract Proposal. Said check shall be forfeited, or said bond shall become payable, in case the Bidder depositing same does not complete the requirements as defined in the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS in the time set forth herein below. The Contractor shall execute required documents within seven (7) calendar days after the Notice of Award; shall begin work within five (5) calendar days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed; and shall complete work within one hundred sixty (160) working days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive any irregularities, and to award the contract to other than the lowest Bidder.
