Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Middletown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Contract No. T-302.00t001-3-04 - Replacement of Bridge No. Eb-707 at Milepost 304.44 in Chester County This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment, and work necessary for the replacement of an existing single span steel girder bridge with a two span, prestressed bulb-tee bridge. Work also includes the reconstruction of T-501 (Marsh Road) and T-400 (Adams Road), utility installations, drainage modifications, installation of compost sock sediment traps, construction of stormwater basins, and maintenance and protection of traffic. Work items include, but are not limited to: 41,458 CY Excavation, Various Types 7,166 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture, Various Courses, Various Mixes 19,342 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, Various Depths 5,734 SY Subbase (No. 2A), Various Depths 1,646 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Sizes and Types 16 EA Inlets/End Sections/Endwalls 1,075 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 4,921 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier/Glare Screen 127,030 LB Reinforcement Bars, Plain and Epoxy Coated 1,080 LF Steel Beam Bearing Piles, HP12x53 938 CY Cement Concrete, Various Classes 1,241 CY Selected Borrow Excavation, Structure Backfill 665 LF Prestressed Concrete PA Bulb-Tee Beams Milepost 304.44 is located approximately 6.0 miles east of the Morgantown Interchange, Exit 298, and approximately 7.6 miles west of the Downingtown Interchange, Exit 312, in Chester County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Diverse Business minimum level of participation established for this project is: DB 5% The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
