Renovation of an educational facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Clear Creek Elementary School, Partial Roof Replacement Project -Charlotte, NC. Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, devices, appliances, utilities, transportation, and other facilities and services necessary to accomplish the work described in these specifications. B. Base Bid: Work under Base Bid generally consists of the following: 1. Roof replacement on Roof Areas C2, C3, C4, C5 and C7 generally consists of removal and disposal of the existing gravel-surfaced built-up roofing system, perlite insulation, polyisocyanurate insulation, base sheet, rosin paper, flashings, metal coping caps, gravel stop edge metal and associated work specified herein to the existing roof decks listed below. Work includes furnishing and installation of a two-ply modified bitumen roofing system, gypsum cover board, tapered insulation crickets and saddles, polyisocyanurate insulation, flashings, gypsum underlayment, metal coping caps, new metal wall panels, net metal gravel stop edge, new drain inserts, and associated work specified herein. See Table 3-1 in specification Section 075216 for additional information. DESCRIPTION OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM A. Information in this Section is provided only to establish general description and is not necessarily accurate. Before preparing and submitting a bid, visit site and become satisfied as to the existing conditions, size of roof areas, etc. Receipt of bid will be considered evidence Contractor has inspected roof or otherwise become satisfied on all details relating to the work. B. Various lines including, but not necessarily limited to, coaxial cables, telephone wires, etc. are present on roof surfaces. Become familiar with the locations, purposes and types of lines present and ensure that all lines are properly protected during the course of the work, remain in service during the course of the work and reposition them in their appropriate places at the conclusion of the work unless specifically indicated otherwise herein or on drawings. Carefully coordinate any activities relating to such lines with the Owner prior to conducting such activities. C. The existing roof system generally consists of the following: 1. Roof Area C2: Gravel surfaced built-up roof solid mopped in asphalt over 1" perlite insulation solid mopped in asphalt over 2" polyisocyanurate insulation solid mopped in asphalt over 1" perlite and 1/2" Gypsum board mechanically attached over metal roof deck. The existing approximately 1/4 inch per foot slope is in the structure. 2. Roof Areas C2, C3, C4, C5 and C7: Graveled surface built-up system over 1" perlite solid mopped over 1 1/2" polyisocyanurate insulation solid mopped , mechanically attached base sheet and rosin paper over, structural wood fiber deck. The existing approximately 1/4 inch per foot slope is in the structure.
