Demolition, Associated Mechanical/Electrical, Electrical Relocation, Geothermal Well for the Jefferson High School College and Career Readiness & Freshman Academies project. Work to commence on or about March 27, 2025. See schedule for substantially complete date for Bid Issuance #1. All work and equipment is to be in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents on file with the Board of Education of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, which are by this reference made a part of this notice as though fully set out and incorporated herein. Separate lump-sum bid for the Jefferson College & Career Readiness & Freshman Academies will be received for: Bid Package #01 - Demolition Bid Package #02 - Mechanical Bid Package #03 - Electrical Bid Package #04 - Geothermal Bid Security shall be submitted with each bid as security the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid and shall furnish after the award of contract corporate surety bond or bonds, acceptable to the owner, for the faithful performance of the contract in the amount equivalent to 100% of the amount of the contract. Bid security shall be in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. Bid Security shall be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the bidding requirements. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. This project has a target for Targeted Small Business participation of ten percent (10%).
