Renovation of an educational facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Question Deadline 03/18/2025 at 5:00 PM PT a) This will be a turnkey project. b) The Contractor will check in with the customer prior to working. c) The Contractor will perform job site safety inspection. d) The Contractor will be responsible for the Honeywell controls needed for the VFD. For this, the chiller must have a BACnet interface card so that Honeywell can integrate the points into EBI for monitoring. e) The Contractor will perform the LOTO on all pertinent stored energy sources for electrical connections. f) The Contractor will disconnect the existing 480-volt 2000-amp parallel feeder wiring that is terminated into the chiller control panel main breaker. This breaker is fed from (1) 2000-amp main breaker in the switchgear located in the same mechanical room as the chiller, within 50 linear feet. g) The Contractor will disconnect the existing 480-volt 2000-amp parallel feeder wiring that is terminated into the chiller control panel that feeds the chiller unit point of termination. h) The Contractor will disconnect and remove (4) existing conduits that are currently connected to the chiller controller. Existing wiring in these conduits is to remain on site for re-installation to the new control cabinet. i) The Contractor will remove (1) 3/4" EMT conduit that is installed from the existing control cabinet to the oil heater control cabinet located on the chiller unit. The wiring in this conduit is to remain on site for reconnection to the new chiller control cabinet. j) The Contractor will remove (1) 3/4" EMT conduit that is installed from the existing control cabinet to the refrigeration machine control cabinet located on the chiller unit. The wiring in this conduit is to remain on site for reconnection to the new chiller control cabinet. k) The Contractor will remove (2) 3/4" EMT conduits that is installed from the existing control cabinet to the control cabinet air conditioner located to the right of the existing chiller control cabinet. The wiring in this conduit is to remain on site for reconnection to the new chiller control cabinet. l) The Contractor will remove (1) 3/4" EMT conduit that is installed from the existing control cabinet to the flow control valve above the existing chiller control cabinet. The wiring in this conduit is to remain on site for reconnection to the new chiller control cabinet. m) The Contractor will remove (1) 3/4" EMT conduit that is installed from the existing control cabinet to (2) sensor cables that are located on the chiller unit. The wiring in this conduit is to remain on site for reconnection to the new chiller control cabinet. n) The Contractor will install (1) a new water-cooled Rockwell free-standing VFD or equal to - 1215 Amp LF2.0 460/480VAC/65Hz, 65KAIC input circuit breaker, with a BACnet interface card. o) The Contractor will install (1) a new Koolant Kooler water-to-water heat exchanger or equal to for LF2 larger-sized VFD with 5 gallons of premix 30/70 glycol/water, and a hose kit to connect the Koolant Kooler p) The Contractor will re-install the existing conduits and wiring for the oil heater, refrigeration machine, chiller control cabinet air conditioner, flow control valve and sensor cables mentioned above. q) The Contractor will re-install the existing (4) conduits and wiring from the chiller termination junction box down to the chiller control cabinet. r) The Contractor will re-install the existing wiring in the (4) conduits from the new chiller controller to the chiller termination junction box. s) The Contractor will install (2) Add-A-Valves on existing chilled water lines feeding the Koolant Kooler or equal to. t) The Contractor will offset the chilled water supply & return piping over approximately 10" away from the VFD and tie it back into the Koolant Kooler or equal to. u) The Contractor will insulate the new chilled water piping. v) The Contractor will upgrade existing Carrier controls PIC2 to PIC3 which is compatible with the new VFD (install new ICVC with version 4 software and the latest PIC3 software). w) The Contractor will install an oil reclaim double eductor kit to mitigate any oil loss issues during light load (with low speed) operation. x) The Contractor will install a thermal blister for the evaporator saturation temperature thermistor when upgrading to PIC3. y) The Contractor will be responsible for the programming, start-up, and commissioning of the newly installed VFD. z) The Contractor will perform all final safety checks, remove LOTO, and restore power to VFD and chiller. aa) The Contractor will start the unit and verify proper operation, including the Honeywell portion is functioning properly. bb) The Contractor will clean all job-related debris from the area. cc) The Contractor will brief the customer of unit operation upon completion.
