The City of Chesapeake is soliciting bids from qualified bidders to establish an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract to provide Specialized Equipment, Maintenance and Repair Service's support for community center and/or other City facility gymnasiums and large facility rooms on an as needed basis for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. The City of Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department requires a variety of specialized equipment, maintenance and repair services support for community center and other City facility gymnasiums and large facility rooms. Period of Contract: Two (2) years with three (3) one year renewal options. from the effective date, upon mutual written agreement of parties. The City will NOT accept faxed addenda. The City of Chesapeake is soliciting bids from qualified bidders to establish an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract to provide Specialized Equipment, Maintenance and Repair Service's support for community center and/or other City facility gymnasiums and large facility rooms on an as needed basis for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. 4.1. Scope of Work All labor, tools, equipment and/or materials for repair, renovation and installation of building and sports related equipment on on-call basis. Work to be performed shall include but is not limited to; Equipment Safety Inspections, Electrical Motor Systems, Window and Partition Curtains, Air Walls, Basketball Goals and Backstops, Volleyball Systems, Gym Flooring, Wall Padding and Bleacher Systems. The contractor is bidding labor rates only, however if it is more economical and/or efficient for the City, the Contractor will supply the materials as deemed appropriate by the City. Compensation for all Contractor provided parts, materials and supplies shall be based on the actual cost, no mark-up shall be allowed. Receipts shall be attached to the invoice for cost verification. Only materials conforming to the requirements of the specifications and approved by the City shall be used in the work. The Contractor shall provide a written estimate for each project which shall be reviewed and approved prior to starting work. If the work is deemed to be of an immediate response nature, the estimate requirement may be waived as determined in the City's sole discretion. Written estimates shall provide a detailed breakdown of all costs associated with each project, to include the contract number, a description of work to be performed, cost for materials, cost per man hours and number of hours to complete the project. The Contractor shall be responsible for disposal of all refuse, rubbish, scrap materials and debris resulting from its operations. No such refuse, rubbish, scrap material or debris shall be left within the completed work area nor buried on the building site, but shall be removed from the site and properly disposed of in a licensed landfill or otherwise as required by law. Community Centers are accessible to work from 7:00 am-9:00 pm Monday - Friday. If necessary and with prior approval, Saturday and Sunday hours may be available. The City reserves the right to make multiple awards as a result of this solicitation. The award(s) will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s), based on Grand Total Bid of Section, Pricing Schedule, and meeting the requirements of the solicitation. Neither the acceptance by the City or any representative of the City, nor any payment for or acceptance of the whole or any part of the Work, nor any extension of time, nor any possession taken by the City shall operate as a waiver of any portion of the Contract or of any power herein reserved or of any right to damages. A waiver of any breach of the Contract shall not be held to be a waiver of or implied course of dealing applicable to any other or subsequent breach. The City reserves all rights, privileges, immunities and defenses available to it at law.
