PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project, which is to follow the current edition of the Kentucky Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, consists of all work and materials necessary for the side walk improvements, specified herein, including, but not limited to, removal and Construction of the specified sidewalk areas. All bidders and subcontractors prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Prime and DBE contractors must be prequalified at the time of the Bid. Subcontractors wat be prequalified at the time of the work. Al All bidders and subcontractors must be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Prime and DBE contractors must be prequalified at the time of the lid. Subcontractors must be prequalified at the time of the work. The DBE goal for this project is 3%. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond of not less than 5% of the amount of the total bid. A 100% Performance Bond and Payment Bond shall be required of the successful Bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or the General and Supplementary Conditions of the Contract. Submission of a bid shall be construed as confirmation that the bidder has visited the areas indicated and is satisfied as to the extent of work required. No changes to the contract will be considered based on misunderstandings of the scope of the work if such misunderstandings could have been addressed by a site visit. Prevailing wage rates apply to this project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any formalities in the bidding. No bids will be accepted after the bid letting time. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the Owner The project will be awarded to the lowest and most responsible bidder.
