Kansas Road Phase II Roadway Improvements consists, but not limited to all labor, material and equipment necessary or required to complete all proposed improvements. The project generally entails milling of existing asphalt roadway, new asphalt roadway, curbing, ada compliant ramps, sidewalk, signage, striping and top soiling / hydro-seeding. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the bidder's name and address labeled "Kansas Road Phase II Roadway Improvements" and addressed to the "Township of Pennsville, 90 North Broadway (Blue Conference Room), Pennsville, New Jersey 08070, Attention: Mrs. Angela Foote, Municipal Clerk. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelopes containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to the Township of Pennsville. Bids must be accompanied by a Certificate of Surety from an acceptable surety and a bid security in the form of a certified check,cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Township of Pennsville in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount but not in excess of $20,000.00. The Contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid proposal conforms to the requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents. The Township will award the Contract or reject the bids within sixty (60) municipal days after the date of the bid opening. Should there be any reason the contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Township and the bidder. Bids must be accompanied by a Certificate of Surety from an acceptable surety and a bid security in the form of a certified check,cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Township of Pennsville in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount but not in excess of $20,000.00. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The Township of Pennsville and the Engineer reserve the right to require a complete financial and experience statement from the prospective bidders showing that they have satisfactorily completed work of the nature required before furnishing proposal forms or specifications, or before awarding the contract. The Township of Pennsville reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, and to waive any informalities or minor defects therein, should it be deemed in the best interest of the Township of Pennsville.
