The work for which proposals are invited consists of providing labor, equipment, and materials for crack sealing of city streets. The work items include sealing of cracks on residential and mains citywide. This project has the following primary components: o Crack Sealing of Mains and Residential Streets Crack Sealing and Incidental Work The scope will include mains and residential streets citywide per the attached list. The list can be reduced or added as need. This works is to be performed between August 31, 2025 and September 30, 2025. Application of sand may be necessary to prevent pickup or tracking per direction of City Engineer. Utility Protection Note The contractor shall be responsible to have all utilities located, and work around the utilities and/or coordinate with utility company in relocation. The contractor shall take caution not to damage private facilities (irrigation systems, underground pet fences, etc) and work around them, as necessary. SWPPP Note The contractor shall ensure best management practice are followed regarding storm water pollution prevention. Any sediment or asphalt that enters a catch basin or manhole shall be removed. Work items and quantities are projected and expected to change to fit needs of actual field conditions, budget, and other potential issues. Prices will not change due to change in quantities or cost escalation. Payment for work items not included as a specific pay item shall be considered incidental to other work items. Maintenance of Traffic The contractor will be required to follow the Ohio Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (OMUTCD) for all work within the right of way and in the Instruction to Bidders and General Provisions section of the bid package. The hours of work will be restricted depending on the classification of the roadway per section 2.6 of General Provisions. Any no parking signage shall be installed and removed timely to reduce confusion of the work area restrictions. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the Construction Drawings and Plans. The standard construction drawings and specifications of the City of Centerville and the State of Ohio Department of Transportation, including changes and general notes listed in the Construction Drawings, Plans, and these Specifications, shall govern this Project. The most restrictive standards shall apply. Item C423 - Crack Sealing, Type 4, As Per Plan Item C614 - Maintaining Traffic The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive any formalities in the bidding and to enter into a contract with the bidder who, in the City's opinion, offered the lowest and best proposal.
