The White County Board of Commissioners is requesting bids from qualified contractors to provide asphalt leveling, resurfacing and striping on three county roads and striping only on two county roads in White County. The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, and other services necessary in the performance of this contract. CR398- Level/Resurface/Stripe: From SR254 to SR115 340.410.54.4500.398 3) Pless Rd. CR058- Level/Resurface/Stripe: From SR115 to SR384 340.410.54.4500.058 4) Turner Rd. CR172 - Striping Centerline and Edgelines: From Old Blue Creek Rd. to EOM 340.410.54.4500.172 5) Stansel Rd. March 24, 2025, 12:00 PM Answers to written questions posted to website: April 07, 2025 WCBOC meeting - award bid (This date is not confirmed) The term "Work" means the construction and services required by the Contract Documents, and includes all other labor, materials, equipment and services provided by the Contractor to fulfill the Contractor's obligations to complete leveling, resurfacing, and striping. All work and materials shall be in accordance with GDOT Standard Specifications, current edition and comply with the MUTCD, current edition. 2.1 Work Notes: a. Material Certifications and Job Mix Formulas for this Project will be presented to the Public Works Director prior to beginning work. All materials will be GDOT approved, from approved sources. b. Leveling on Albert Reid Rd., Lothridge Rd., and Pless Rd. is to be 9.5 mm, Type 1 at 40lbs per sq. yd. surface course shall be Type 2 at 130lbs per sq. yd. All leveling will be as directed by the Public Works Director or his Project Inspector. c. The contractor shall be responsible for clipping shoulders prior to beginning paving operations, as well as pulling loose soil back up to the edge of new paving in areas where soil is cut back to expose the edge of existing pavement. The Contractor will sweep the road free of loose soil that would interfere with striping. No separate payments will be made for this work but shall be included in the bid price for related items. d. The width of paved aprons at turn-outs, at side roads, and drives will be as required to provide a smooth and well drained transition to and from the public roads and driveways as approved. At each and every termini, milling of the entire roadway width shall be required prior to resurfacing to avoid feathering of intersections. Side roads and driveways will be milled or sawed only as directed, and as needed. Termini milling or butt joints are incidental to the project. e. The Contractor will be responsible for testing and furnishing certified test reports, including compaction, to the county. The testing shall be in accordance with Section 400 and Section 828 Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Construction Special Provisions, and the current edition of the Georgia Department of Transportation Sampling, Testing and Construction Manual. No separate payment will be made for this work, but will be included in the base price for related items.
