No definite date for the rebid.** Chaparral Elementary HVAC Upgrades - 22601 Liberty Bell Road, Calabasas, CA 91302 This Project is being let in accordance with the informal bid requirements of the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act ("CUPCCAA") set forth in Public Contract Code section 22000 et seq. (specifically, the formal bidding procedures in Section 22032(c)). Question Deadline 03/16/2025 10 DAYS PRIOR TO BID DATE Contractor's License Classification Required: B, C-20, C-39 and C-10 and Each bidder and all subcontractors shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code, and be licensed to perform the work called for in the contract documents. Any contractor bidding on the project who fails to attend the entire job walk and conference will be deemed a non-responsive bidder and will have its bids returned unopened. Each bid must strictly conform with and be responsive to the contract documents as defined in the General Conditions. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Each bidder's bid must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price: (1) cash; (2) a cashier's check made payable to the District; (3) a certified check made payable to the District; or (4) a bidder's bond executed by a California admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, made payable to the District in the form set forth in the contract documents. Prequalification documents can be found at the online. Prequalification documents and processing must be submitted 10 DAYS PRIOR TO BID DATE No bidder may withdraw any bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids. Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract amount, are required, and shall be provided to the District prior to execution of the contract and shall be in the form set forth in the contract documents. All bonds (bid, performance and payment) must be issued by a California admitted surety as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120. Each bidder must strive to meet goals and requirements relating to participation by Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises ("D.B.V.E."), of three percent (3%) participation, established by the District, or make a good faith effort in respect thereto and provide the District with a report as to the actual participation at the conclusion of the Project. The Contract Time is Project Start is set for June 13, 2025, Project Completion Date is Set for August 15, 2025 Scope:- 1. Note: When HVAC equipment is to be mounted to the roof of any building and will require the use of any heavy machinery (Helicopter or craneETC.) a logistics plan will need to be submitted 10 days prior to installation and preinstall meetings will be mandatory with all parties involved. Contractor will be responsible for getting all documented approval from all local ordinance prior to installation. 2. The Contractor shall guarantee the installation of Chaparral HVAC and Electrical Upgrades For a minimum period of 2 years (or longer if required or provided by the manufacturer) from the date of Final Completion of the project. The Contractor shall make all repairs during this minimum 2-year period to maintain the Chaparral HVAC and Electrical Upgrades and to be in conformance/compliance with the Contract Documents at no cost to the district. The Contractor shall respond to requests for Warranty & Guarantee Repairs under this Guarantee within 24 hours of receiving a request from the district. (Refer to Guarantee of front-end docs for additional information on warranty. 3. Items of HVAC Replacement Work required will consist of the but not limited to the following: Work will consist of removing and replacing roof top HVAC Packaged type units including roof top transition type adapter curbs and related equipment and utilities connected to each roof top HVAC package units. In addition, the contractor will have to remove and reinstall the low and line voltage wiring including the extension or replacement of wiring & seal tight or ridged type conduit to connect the utilities to the new Points of Connection on the Roof Top HVAC Packaged Units. 4. Contractor shall remove and replace the gas shut off valve and gas flex pipe to each gas package type unit including the extension of the piping/plumbing to the new gas P.O.C. Contractor shall remove and replace the condensate drain piping and supports (Dura Blok Supports) with new 3/4 " copper piping per code to nearest drain. Work includes the removal and re-installation of the HVAC Roof top Package Unit Electrical disconnects including any new wiring-conduit and etc. required to extend the electrical to the new P.O.C. on the new HVAC Roof Top Package Unit. 5. Contractor shall dispose of old HVAC Units as a part of their scope of work and include costs for the disposal. Contractor shall understand that this is a turnkey project when the HVAC Roof top package units are replaced and contractor shall include any labor, materials or equipment required or necessary to conduct commissioning and start up for the new equipment that has been installed. 6. Contractor shall also supply and install any sealant related materials as required for the installation of the roof top package units. 7. Contractor shall be responsible for the repair or replacement of any damaged item during the removal and replacement of the roof top HVAC unit installation operations. 8. Contractor shall verify the condition of all roof areas with district rep prior to work commencing. District rep shall photograph condition of roof areas where HVAC rootop equipment will be replaced prior to construction for record purposes and verification of non-damaged items upon the completion of all work 9. Contractor shall protect all existing roofs and structures or components at drive way or paved areas, walk, landscape or other project site related areas or locations from damage during HVAC Equipment replacement operations. 10. Contractor shall include in their bid any labor, materials or equipment required or necessary to cover any HVAC roof top equipment curb or other areas to protect any areas below the roof from the infiltration of water should adverse weather occur such as rain. 11. Contractor shall protect at all times, the areas below the roof in the building from any damage from roofing operations or adverse weather. 12. Contractor shall immediately notify district rep of any occurrence where damage to property may have occurred so action can be taken to immediately correct the issue or occurrence. 13. Contractor shall be responsible to correct at their expense any damages caused by re-roof operations. 14. Contractor shall have the tools and equipment required or necessary to install any new work at any locations where it may be required. 15. Contractor shall be assigned a work zone where all operations on site shall commence from during the entire re-roof operations. District's rep and/or district will coordinate with contractor to create and enforce a zero harm safety approach while working on site. 16. The contractor shall replace the existing HVAC controls with new Pelican Thermostats, ensuring that the final thermostat locations are coordinated with the owner. Additionally, the contractor must provide and install new thermostat wiring units anywhere the Pelican control are missing. It is the contractor's responsibility to field-verify the existing controllers in classrooms, and if they are not Pelican controls, they must be replaced with Pelican units. All replacements and installations must comply with project requirements. Please see Pelican Network Map and material list. 17. Contractor shall upon completion of the equipment installation go through a commissioning and start up process to verify the proper installation of the HVAC Systems to meet the contract requirements. Once the commissioning is complete, the contractor shall air balance and submit the TAB & commissioning Report for review as many times as needed until correct. 18. Demobilization of the project shall occur within 10 Days of completion to allow the school to utilize the space being occupied during construction. 19. Contractor shall provide their own dumpster/trash receptacles for the removal and proper disposal, or recycle of old equipment, ductwork of trash of any kind generated during this contract. Contractor shall always have onsite for trash & recycling a haul away or roll off type trash bins. The Contractor will not be allowed to use district trash containers. The Contractor must remove containers that have reached maximum capacity as soon as possible to prevent material to be scattered throughout the site.The contractor is responsible for the removal and proper disposal of any hazardous materials they may encounter such as asbestos, lead containing materials ETC. in all areas affected by phased HVAC systems demolition. 20. For the Duration of the Projects multiple phases the Contractor shall have onsite, restroom and handwash facilities for workers. In addition, the contractor will need to have a temporary construction office trailer set up for the duration of the project. No use of District facilities will be available. During phase one all restrooms and hand washing stations need to be block off from the staff and student to prevent any issues. 21. Provide temporary fence, gates and green privacy screen as required for the storage and laydown area and at ANY other location(s) required to secure areas of work per schedule 22. All subcontractors are responsible for providing their own storage and security measures asneededto protect their own stored materials and equipment at the jobsite. The District willnotbe held liable for any loss or theft incurred during the project. 23. No electricity will be available at the construction site. The Contractor shall provide their own power source(s) for their work. 24. Employee parking is available offsite on public roads, No onsite parking will be made available. Potential parking willbe available on site depending on District Approval.. 25. Furnish temporary air filters for air handlers for use during construction. Replace temporary filters with permanent filters prior to final acceptance by owner after test and balancing. Provide the extra stock of one set of filters for each air handler or as required per contract documents. 26. This Subcontractor's responsibility is to cut, cap, and isolate existing HVAC utilities of any kind, and as needed as a part of the new HVAC installation, including the cut and drain, capture and disposal of refrigerant, and coordinate removal with the Demolition Subcontractor. Coordinate demolition limits to ensure the installation of new HVAC improvements can be achieved. 27. The contractor shall coordinate with the electrical subcontractor for the installation of any and all electrical power requirements for all mechanical and control equipment. This included all low voltage equipment and systems .The Electrical subcontractor will provide all final connections to HVAC equipment (120V power and above), including but not limited to all motors, junction boxes, line voltage, and dampers. All internal wiring and low-voltage power for the complete installation of the HVAC equipment, including low-voltage conduit, wiring, switches, shut-offs, relays, and accessories, will be provided by this Subcontractor.
