Sealed bids from qualified contractors for the construction of an insulated metal dog kennel facility at the Elk City Animal Control building (1200 U.S. Rt 66, Elk City, OK) This project will include the construction of a 30-foot by 60-foot standalone metal building, complete with a concrete slab floor, kennel enclosures, drainage systems, and utility connections. The facility will serve as a dedicated kennel for housing dogs under the care of the Animal Control. The City of Elk City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Building Specifications • Type: Insulated (3” vinyl backed) Metal building constructed with 8” C purlin on a concrete slab. Colors TBD. • Size: 30 feet wide by 60 feet long • Wall Height: Minimum 12 feet. Specifications to be provided. • Roof Overhang: 14-foot extended roof on east and west sides beyond both 60-foot-long exterior walls, to provide shelter for outside. • Openings: In addition to door openings, there will be approximately 22 openings for pass through doors, two air exchange vents and two openings for H/A. • Foundation/Flooring: Building-12” by 18” footings with 2 rows of ½ in re-bar, a stem-wall that will extend app 4” above primary concrete slab. The slab will be a minimum 4” thick 3500 with 3/8 rebar. The exterior concrete will consist of an 8’-6” slab sloped slightly toward trench drain for the outdoor containment areas, the trench drain and a 5’ walkway for washdown purposes. These will also be a minimum of 4” inch thick 3500 with 3/8 rebar. • Trench drains: There will be four sets of drains running the length of the actual kennels and run areas, two inside and two outside. Specs will be included with floor plan. • Epoxy Coatings: A. Primer - Dural 452 GEL - High Modulus Epoxy Adhesive, as manufactured by the Euclid Chemical Company or approved equal. B. SCOPE OF WORK The selected contractor will be responsible for: 1. Site Preparation – Excavation and grading as needed before concrete pouring. 2. Concrete Slab Installation – Including reinforcement, floor drains (in coordination with the plumbing contractor), and extended slabs for the overhang. 3. Building Erection – Fabrication and assembly of a metal building meeting all structural code requirements. 4. Roof and Overhang – Ensuring the roof meets all weatherproofing standards. 5. Door Installation – Overhead garage door and listed personnel doors. 6. Additional Concrete: There will also be a 5’ ADA compliant sidewalk between the two buildings and a 12’ x 24’ approach for south overhead. 7.
