Site work and new construction of a power facility in Kugluktuk, Nunavut. Completed plans call for the construction of a 8,640-square-foot, one-story above grade power facility; and for site work for a power facility.
The objective of the project is to have in place a fully designed, built, commissioned and functional 4160 VAC power plant with a four (4) unit genset lineup to serve the community of Kugluktuk. The new power plant will be designed for a minimum 40-year life cycle. The facilities will be designed and constructed to be capable of operating in a harsh arctic environment (e.g., high winds, heavy snow, extreme low temperatures). The work is "DESIGN-BUILD" (Turnkey) approach. The Design-Builder shall provide a comprehensive service to design and construct a new power plant on lots 459 - 462, next to the Petroleum Product Division's (PPD) tank farm at southwest corner of Kugluktuk Drive and Coronation Drive.
