The City of Bakersfield is requesting bids from experienced and reputable contractors for providing an Annual Contract for Organic & Recyclables Material Hauling. Award, if any, resulting from this Invitation to Bid shall be for a one (1) year period. Contract shall be renewable annually thereafter for four (4) consecutive one-year periods at the City's option and upon mutually agreeable terms. A Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the City of Bakersfield, shall accompany each bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish the City with a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond issued by a California admitted surety in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bidder shall arrange for Power of Attorney for the admitted surety insurer to be on file with the Kern County Clerk-Recorder at the time set for receipt of bids. Any bonds required by these specifications will neither be accepted nor approved by the city unless the bonds are underwritten by an admitted surety and the requirements of California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.630(a) and (b) are met, and the bonds are accompanied by the County Clerk's certificate as provided for in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.640(b).
