Agency City of Chico Department Public Works Engineering Bid Contact Tyler DeBoer (530) 879-6954 tyler.deboer@chicoca.gov 411 Main St. Chico, CA 95927 CITY BUDGET NO.: 850-000-8800/50626-850-4110 The sealed envelope enclosing the bid submittal shall be clearly marked with the Project Title, City Budget Account Number, and the Date and Hour for the opening of bids. No bid will be considered unless it is made on the bid form included in the project Bid Book furnished by the Public Works Department, obtained through Public Purchase on-line bidding service. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer made payable to the City of Chico for an amount equal to at least 10% of the total bid amount, such guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION The work, in general, to be done under this contract consists of removal and replacement of approximately 2,500 linear feet of sewer pipeline. This includes the upsizing of the existing 5" vitrified clay pipes to 6" PVC pipes and replacement of existing 8" vitrified clay pipes with 8" PVC pipes. FUNDING SOURCE This project is funded with Local funds. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE The Engineer's Estimate for this Contract is $1,800,000. CONTRACT TIME The Project has 100 Working Days. PREBID OUTREACH MEETING A non-mandatory prebid outreach meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 2PM in the City of Chico Council Chambers Conference Room #1, 421 Main Street, Chico, CA 95928. The meeting will be virtual via Microsoft Teams. This meeting is to inform bidders and potential subcontractors of project requirements, arranging solicitations, times for the presentation of bids, quantities, specifications, and delivery schedules. The City will also answer any questions pertaining to the Plans, Contract, and Specifications. Bidder's attendance at this meeting is non-mandatory. Any questions relating to the project must be submitted on Public Purchase per the instructions set forth in the Notice to Bidders. Questions regarding clarifications will be posted as answers and will not be issued as an addendum. If a response to a question posted on Public Purchase changes the timing or character of the bid, an addendum will be issued through Public Purchase. If an addendum is issued, the "Addendum Notice," issued through Public Purchase, will need to be submitted with the bid.
