Construction of 1 mile of Mills Civic Parkway from South 91st Street to South Grand Prairie Parkway feet including 24 acres of Clearing and Grubbing, 28,200 CY of Topsoil Strip, Salvage and Spread, 36,350 CY of Excavation and 76,870 CY of Contractor Supplied Embankment in Place. 4,908 LF of Storm Sewer and 45 Storm Sewer Structures. 993 LF of Subdrain and Subdrain Outlets. 28,380 LF of Conduit and Vaults. 20,411 SY of 10 inch Reinforced PCC Pavement, 532 SY of 7 inch Reinforced PCC Pavement, 713 SY of 7 inch PCC pavement, 5,288 SY of 6 inch Reinforced PCC Shared Use Path, 156 SY of 4 inch sidewalk and 5,131 SY of 6 inch PCC Driveway. Erosion Control, Seeding and Surface Restoration, Pavement Markings, Construction Survey, and other Miscellaneous Construction. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashiers or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerks Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within 10 days of written notice to proceed and shall be completed by September 15th, 2026. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. Closure of Mills Civic Parkway to through traffic for construction of Stages 3, 4 and 5 as shown in the construction plans is permitted for a maximum of 90 consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages in the amount of One thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per day will be assessed for each calendar day Mills Civic Parkway remains closed to through traffic beyond 90 consecutive calendar days. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
