Location: Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve & Environmental Education Center NYSCR Category: Architectural, Engineering & Surveying - Construction Professional Services Description: The New York State Office of General Services Design and Construction Group (D&C), on behalf of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is seeking Letters of Interest from qualified architectural/engineering firms to provide consulting, design, bid and construction phase services for an addition to, and renovation of, the existing Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve & Environmental Education Center located at the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Depew, NY. Firms are expected to provide high quality architectural/engineering services for an addition and renovations to the Visitor's Center. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: Providing consulting, design, bid and construction phase services for an addition to, and renovation of, the existing facility. Firms must be experienced in providing architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural/civil/site engineering, fire protection/fire alarm engineering, and Commissioning services. Compliance with the latest building code including review of work done by others for compliance with applicable codes. Application of energy efficient, resilient, and sustainable design in compliance with the initiatives and requirements laid out in New York State Governor's Executive Order 22, the Climate Leadership & Community Protection Act (CLCPA), and the NYS Buy Clean Concrete Guidelines. Application may also require usage of NY Stretch Energy Code, Geothermal Networking, Electrification of All Building Systems, Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, and PV Panel Systems. A minor requirement of fire protection/fire alarm engineering, structural engineering, civil/site engineering, and commissioning services. Hazardous material investigation and design services for the remediation/removal of such materials as required for the project scope of work. The Firm's team shall include qualified persons with door, frame, and architectural hardware experience. Possible services to identify design-based funding opportunities and provide technical documentation needed for applications to those funding opportunities. Services can be provided by the proposed design team including sub-consultants. GENERAL INFORMATION: Provide complete design, specifications, field survey, estimating and construction administration/support activities to provide a highly-energy efficient addition and renovations to the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve & Environmental Education Center, constructed in 2006, and which is part of the 292-acre Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve. Anticipated design scope includes, but not limited to, site work, addition construction, building renovations, heating, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work.
