Demolition and site work for a bridge / tunnel in Toronto, Ontario. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Replacement of the existing steel bridge with a system that can remain open year-round that has traffic control measures in place to follow for vehicular traffic to travel in both directions. The existing bridge was installed in 2001 and consists of three spans, each approx. 23 m long for a total span of approx. 70.50 m, including the spacing between the bearings in the concrete piers. Following a previous condition assessment in 2022, recommendations were made for a total replacement of the bridge in 3-5 years. TIMELINE: As of June 10, 2025, Request for Proposals for engineering design and construction has been awarded. Designs are underway. Tender will be issued pending funding allocation/owner's decision to proceed. Further update early 2026.
