The City of Kinston is hereby requesting informal bids for the removal of specified trees along City rights-of-way. The scope of work includes all work associated with the removal of dead and damaged trees in city street rights-of-way, including cutting, hauling tree debris for disposal, grinding the stumps, back filling and grading yard, traffic control, and disposal fees. Any areas or structures damaged during the tree removal shall be repaired to original conditions by the contractor. Trees to be removed will be marked with orange button caps and red ribbon. There is a bid form with location included in bid package. A site visit is required before submitting bids. Questions concerning the bid or the scope of work should be directed to Gilbert Acevedo at (252) 939-3314. Work shall be completed within 60 days of issuance of purchase order. The City of Kinston reserves the right to remove some or all of the trees from the bid list before awarding work. Work will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder based on total bid amount. Additional trees may be added to the work upon agreement between the City and the Contractor, up to 100% of the original bid.
