Separate sealed BIDS for the construction of (briefly describe nature, scope, and major elements of the work): Construct 7,835 linear feet of 6" water main replacements, and all related appurtenances, in a project area within the northern portion of the corporate limits of the Village of Flat Rock, Crawford County, IL. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Village of Flat Rock, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. This project is funded in whole or in part with grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Attention is called to the fact that 1) not less than the Federal prevailing wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; 2) The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3, 24 CFR Part 75; and 3) The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in an amount equal to the Contract Price. The Village of Flat Rock reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Village of Flat Rock for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
