Buyer Contact: Lorrie Waters lorrie.waters@jasper-ga.us 706-692-9100 The City of Jasper is accepting Proposals for a qualified professional company to conduct construction of a Fire Station. The project, located at 490 Liberty Lane, will consist of a (2) bay metal building with (2) roll up doors, and (2) walk through doors, and one room connecting the new metal building to an existing cabin structure. In addition, a concrete driveway the width of the building extending to Liberty lane will be required. The following construction documents will be provided by the City: 1. Engineering Documents: a. Structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing: floor plan, and additional details as applicable. b. Structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specifications. City of Jasper ("City") is issuing this Request for Proposals ("RFP") for preparation of Construction of a Fire Station (RFP #2025-001). Respondents are solely responsible for ensuring proposals are received by the City on or before the submittal deadline. An original copy must be signed by a representative authorized to bind the company. The original signed proposal and five (5) duplicates are to be submitted in a sealed package with the name of the respondent and RFP title "Fire Station Construction" clearly marked on the outside of the package. An electronic copy on a flash drive or CD must accompany the proposal in a separately sealed envelope titled "Fire Station Construction - Electronic Copy" and shall be included within the submitted sealed envelope. Failure to comply with the requirements set forth in this RFP may result in disqualification. Submitted proposals may be withdrawn at any time prior to the submission time specified in this RFP, provided notification is received in writing before the submittal deadline. Proposals cannot be changed or withdrawn after the submittal deadline. No handwritten notations or corrections will be allowed. The Respondent is solely responsible for all costs related to the preparation of the proposal. The City reserves the right to reject all proposals and to waive any minor informalities or irregularities contained in any proposal. Acceptance of any proposal submitted pursuant to this RFP shall not constitute any implied intent to enter into a contract. The contract award, if any, will be made to the Respondent who, in the City's sole discretion, is best able to perform the required services in a manner most beneficial to the City. Scope of Services The project, located at 490 Liberty Lane, will consist of a (2) bay metal building with (2) roll up doors, and (2) walk through doors, and one room connecting the new metal building to an existing cabin structure. In addition, a concrete driveway the width of the building extending to Liberty lane will be required. The following construction documents will be provided by the City: 1. Engineering Documents: a. Structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing: floor plan, and additional details as applicable. b. Structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specifications. The deadline for submission of any questions shall be Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00pm These specifications, along with the Draw Schedule, are meant to provide the contractor with an understanding of what the project will consist of. Design Services Required of Bidder 1. Provide stamped engineered erection drawings with loading and reaction data. 2. Provide specifications (below) describing scope of work, site improvements, and complete building description. 3. Provide a draw schedule showing all project costs. 4. Provide a contract outlining Owner and Contractor specific rights and details of their contractual agreement. 5. Foundation plans with details stamped by a Georgia registered engineer. 6. Pre-engineered steel building plans with details stamped by a Georgia registered engineer. 7. 3D building drawings. 8. Dimensioned floor plans to show wall layout, locations of mechanical items and possibly finishes. Utilities/Site Work 9. Utilities and site work to be conducted by the bidder. 10. New building electrical will not be connected to existing structure. Proposed building electrical will require separate panel and meter base with disconnect. 11. Install new propane Renzor gas bay heater rated for the 2,000 sqf structure and stub out to exterior of structure. 12. Owner will be responsible for setting and connecting propane tank to heater. Building Foundations and Slab 13. Engineered foundation wall to span the full length of the rear of the proposed building and wrap around on both sides of the building to a length of at least 10 feet. 14. 8 ea. 4ft. x 4ft. x 2ft. deep concrete pier footings reinforced with two mats of 4 ea. #5 rebar each way 15. Approx. 180 ln. ft. of 1ft. x 2ft. reinforced concrete turndown footings at slab perimeter. 16. 4 ea. 3/4 in. x 2 ft. long anchor bolts per column/pier footing. 17. Approx. 2,000 sq. ft. of 6 in. thick 4000 psi concrete, at grade, slab with a #4 rebar grid at 2 ft. on center. 18. Expansion and control joints included and to be 2.5 times the slab thickness in feet, in both directions, unless otherwise requested by Owner or Engineer. Engineered Building A engineered metal structure measuring approx. 40 ft. x 50 ft.x 16 ft. eave height. with the following features: 19. 5 ft. Roof Extension entire front end wall with soffit. 20. 2018 International Building Code. 21. Building Risk/ Occupancy Category IV (Essential Facility) 22. 20 p.s.f. reducible live load. 23. 7 p.s.f. collateral gravity. 24. 125 M.P.H. wind load. 25. 10 lb. ground snow load. 26. 10 in. per hour rainfall intensity. 27. Seismic load Ss/Sa=35% and S1/Sa =17.00%. 28. Frames vertically supporting: Metal roof purlins and panels. 29. Frames laterally supporting: Metal wall girts and panels. 30. Purlins supporting: Metal roof panels. 31. Girts supporting: Metal wall panels. 32. 2 on 12 gable roof. 33. 16 ft. eave height with approx. 19 ft. peak height. 34. Clear span interior rigid frame @. 25 ft 35. Rigid frame with posts at end walls. 36. All wall secondary steel to be 8 1/2 in. G30 galvanized. 37. All roof secondary steel to be 10 in. G30 galvanized. 38. 1 ea. bay of X rod bracing in roof plane. 39. Roof panels to be panel rib 24-gauge galvalume with 20 year warranted finish. 40. Stainless steel color matched fasteners included. 41. Commercial gutters and downspouts included. 42. Roof insulation to include 1 ea. layer of 4 in. R-13 unfaced and 1 ea. layer of R24 WMP50 faced. 43. Foam rubber closures manufactured for particular metal panel profiles to be installed where specified to insure weather tightness. 44. Structure shall have gutters and downspouts that are color matched as closely as possible. 45. Building color should match the existing cabin structure as closely as possible to include the 36" rock facade on the front and both sides of the structure. The rear of the structure does not require a facade. 46. All fixtures to include plumbing and electrical shall be commercial grade. 47. Locations of fixtures to include plumbing and electrical are located on the building drawing. 48. Driveway in front of new structure slopped to the sides of the driveway as to ensure runoff does not enter the proposed structure. 49. Driveway concrete to be 3500psi and 6 inches in depth to include fiber and 2' x 2' grid rebar. Rebar shall be half inch in diameter. 50. Driveway will be the width of the proposed building and extend to the public roadway. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
