The City of Montpelier is requesting bids to replace the split air conditioning systems which serve the Activity Room and the Studio Room at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center The City of Montpelier reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in the bidding per current policy. Bids may be held by the City of Montpelier for a period not to exceed ten (10) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the Contract. SCOPE OF WORK Description: Contractor shall furnish all the materials, tools and labor to complete the following work. Montpelier Senior Activity Center Studio and Activity Room Air Conditioner Replacement. This includes: 1. Remove 4 Sanyo KMS1872 (7,500 BTU/h cooling capacity ea.) indoor wall mounted split type air-conditioning units (2 units located in Studio Room and 2 units located in Activity Room) and replace with equipment capable of providing adequate cooling for the affected spaces under reasonably foreseeable conditions. 2. Remove 2 outdoor units mounted on the building roof and replace with equipment compatible with new indoor units. 3. Re-use existing refrigerant line sets. 4. It is assumed that Cold-Climate Heat Pumps will be installed in place of the AC only units currently in place. This assumption is based on the availability of rebates from Efficiency VT/VEIC for CCHPs that are expected to make CCHP's the least expensive option. 5. Replacement equipment must be sized to meet the cooling loads of the rooms, acceptable for Efficiency VT/VEIC rebates, suitable for commercial use, and the most recent generation of equipment available. The intent is to avoid unnecessarily early equipment failure, obsolescence or lack of service parts availability. 6. Proposed equipment specifications must be included in the bid proposal. Manufacturer, model number and capacity must all be listed. Any questions regarding this project must be sent via email to clumbra@montpelier-vt.org. No other form will be accepted.
