Renovation of a municipal facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 9,586-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility.

Question Deadline 03/11/2025 at 5:00 PM ET All materials and methods of construction must conform to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highway's specifications will all subsequent revisions. o Quantities will be determined after review of City of Jeffersontown road system. All roads will be within the corporate city limits of Jeffersontown. o Scheduling of Resurfacing - Contractor shall make every effort to schedule work at least one week in advance. A copy of schedules shall be made available to Public Works Department no later than Thursday noon of the preceding week. o Wedging Materials and Shaping - Some roads designated for resurfacing will include low areas that require wedging prior to a compacted 1" overlay. Contractor costs to wedge shall be priced on a per ton basis. o Cleaning of existing Pavement and Gutters - Gutters that are to be resurfaced with asphalt material shall be thoroughly cleaned including joints, of all sand, slit, grass and other foreign matter. Application of appropriate herbicides may be required in some areas. Outside edges of existing payment and shoulders shall be cut back far enough to expose the existing edge and allow rollers to make full contact with new surface course. Cost of all cleaning and trimming shoulders shall be included in price of asphalt materials. Cleaning and surface preparation must be approved by Public Works department prior to road resurfacing. o Edge Keys - Edge Keys will be required in areas where new pavement adjoins non-resurfaced roads. o R/R (Base Failure Reconstruction) - Include excavation and all materials required to repair substructure shall be done prior to the placement of the final course. 1. 6-4-2: 6" Base Rock - 4" Asphalt Base - 2" Asphalt Surface 2. 10-4-2: 10" Base Rock - 4" Asphalt Base - 2" Asphalt Surface 3. 12-4-2: 12" Base Rock - 4" Asphalt Base - 2" Asphalt Surface o Reclaimed Materials - Salvaged bituminous pavement from Kentucky Department of Highways projects, City of Louisville-Metro projects or other sources, removed by milling or other means, being used in hot bituminous mixtures for all resurfacing projects shall be permitted providing the conditions listed below are met. For other sources to be approved, Contractor shall establish to the City's satisfaction that the material meets Kentucky highway specifications when originally placed, or that the quality of the material is acceptable. 1. Reclaimed materials shall not be used in open graded friction courses, sand asphalt surface, or bituminous concrete surface, unless it is documented to the City's satisfaction that the material meet the aggregate requirements when originally placed. 2. Reclaimed materials shall not be used in bituminous concrete surface in which a minimum amount of polish resistant sand is required, unless it is documented to the City's satisfaction that the material met this requirement when originally placed. 3. Reclaimed materials of different gradation, asphalt percentage, asphalt properties and aggregate properties shall be stockpiled separately and fed through separate cold feeders. Other methods and procedure may be approved by the City provided the Contractor demonstrates that all characteristics of the material remain uniform. 4. The quantity of reclaimed materials used shall be approved by the City. When the reclaimed material is salvaged from projects approved above, the maximum amount that may be used (by weight of total mixture) is 15 to 19 percent. 5. The job mix formula shall be developed by Contractor and, along with samples, proposed to the City for approval in accordance with Kentucky Method 64-427-84 "Method for designing Bituminous Concrete Mixes containing reclaimed Asphalt Pavement." Separate samples will be required of each reclaimed material with different properties, including different aggregate types.
