Lewis County has received Grant funding to help repair the Packwood Senior Center and all other Senior Centers located throughout Lewis County. These funds will be used to repair key components of the buildings envelope to help maintain asset longevity. No payment or performance bond is required if the Contract Sum is $35,000 or less and Contractor agrees that Owner may, in lieu of the bond, retain 50% of the Contract Sum for the period allowed by RCW 39.08.010. Bond shall be received prior to commencement of work. Acceptable forms of bid guarantee are: A bid bond or postal money order, or certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Lewis County Treasurer. The Owner will return bid guarantees (other than bid bond) to unsuccessful bidders as soon as practicable, but not sooner than the execution of a contract with the successful bidder. The successful bidder's bid guarantee will be returned to the successful bidder with its official notice to proceed with the work of the contract. When the sum of the base bid plus all additive bid alternates is $125,000.00 or less, bid security is not required. When the sum of the base bid plus all additive alternates is greater than $125,000.00, a bid guarantee in the amount of 5% of the base bid amount is required. Failure of the bidder to provide bid guarantee when required shall render the bid non-responsive. The undersigned agrees to pay the Owner as liquidated damages the sum of $_500.00_ for each consecutive calendar day that is in default after the Contract Time. Liquidated damages shall be deducted from the contract by change order. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bid proposals and to waive informalities that do not affect the essential fairness of the bidding process.
