The old elementary school is a single-story brick and mortar building. The demolition project includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks: The Demolition contractor will assume and perform the duties as the Prime Contractor. The Prime Contractor will be responsible for all staff and work carried out to complete the demolition of the school. Complete demolition of the building structure. Removal and disposal of all debris and materials to off-Reserve facilities. Minimal site work, focusing mainly on the building footprint. Ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. There are no disposal requirements for this project beyond removal from site. Means of proper disposal off-Reserve is the responsibility of the contractor. All relevant permitting and approvals will be obtained by the Development Manager (Larkspur Projects). Utilizing a reasonable amount of local labour for the completion of the demolition. The scope of work for this project includes and is further noted in the marked-up image on the following page: Temporary construction fencing for the site area is required. Demolition of the building structure. Removal and disposal of all materials. All utilities for this building are decommissioned - gas, water and electricity. In addition to the South Playground equipment salvage items (outlined in orange), the edging should also be removed and set aside - all pea gravel is to be left in place. Assume that both underground cisterns are 15' in depth, with the lengths and widths shown in design plans. All pile caps, foundation walls, mud slabs of crawl spaces, and piles down to 6' below grade must be removed. Any remaining equipment and furniture at the time of demolition is to be recycled or removed as waste. Site cleanup and restoration to a safe and stable condition. Excavations should be filled in with site material surrounding the school, and the area should be levelled off with the surrounding area.
