The Franklin County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) seeks proposals from a qualifi ed architectural, engineering and/or design consultant(s) to provide a variety of A&E services for a mixed-use building renovation project in downtown Chateaugay receiving funding through the New York Main Street Program. Subcontracting is permitted. Additional conditions include: Project designs are to be due within 90 days of contract award. The firm should be able to design renovation projects in accordance with NYS Office of Community Renewal program guidelines, NYS and local building code compliance, federal and state law, local design guidelines and any other regulations or guidelines. The A&E consultant will be responsible for ensuring that the scope of work is sufficient for all applicable permits (including stamped engineered drawings where necessary). A&E Consultant is responsible for meeting the standard for State Historic Preservation Office approval, submitting documentation for approval and should be familiar with the Secretary of interior's standards for renovations. The A&E consultant should demonstrate how they can contribute to the 10% WBE and 10% MBE goals of this funding program. FCEDC has been awarded New York State Main Street Program funding on behalf of a downtown property owner to renovate a mixed-use building and create 2 ADA compliant apartments and an elevator shaft. The scope of services will include: Schematic Design. The consultant meets with the owner and FCEDC to understand the project scope and all related requirements. Complete basic design and schematic drawings. Design Development. Revise drawings with more detail and commence design of building systems including plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Construction Documents. Finalize technical design and create all final construction drawings. Draft an accompanying written scope of work. Bidding. Attend a pre-bid meeting and answer technical questions from bidders. FCEDC will draft and advertise the bid package.
