The pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) project is generally described as a new highway garage facility, approximately 43,000 sq. ft., consisting of vehicle storage bays, maintenance/repair area, mezzanines, administrative offices, conference room, breakroom, locker rooms, storage rooms, mechanical and utility rooms. Also included is a new salt storage structure, a new fuel station, partial demolition and repairs of an existing garage structure, and various site improvements. As bid security, each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check or Bid Bond made out to the Owner, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid amount, subject to the terms and conditions described in the Instructions To Bidders. The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Attention of Bidders is particularly directed to the requirements of the conditions of employment to be observed and the prevailing hourly wage rates and supplements to be paid under the Contract. Every laborer and workman shall be paid not less than the prevailing rate of wages as provided for by Section 220 of the Labor Law of the State of New York (PRC# 2025001247). Contractors must be bonded and insured to the level indicated in the Contract Documents. The owner is sales tax exempt, and the bidders shall not include sales taxes in their bid. The Owner reserves the right to waive any information in, or to reject, any and all bids. No bidder may withdraw his proposal within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bids must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn within forty five (45) days after the date of the opening of the bids. The full amount of the deposit will be refunded to any plan holder who returns the paper bidding documents complete and in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of contract, or rejection of said bid.
