The Jackson County Engineer is now accepting bids for a design-build project to replace the truss bridge on Bucklick Road at mile marker 2.68, which is between Petersburg Road and Riegel Ridge. THIS PROJECT HAS A 5% EDGE GOAL DBT shall provide engineering services, design, and preparation of detail construction plans and furnishing of materials, construction, and completion in every detail of all the work described in the Contract Documents to fulfill the intent of the Contract; removal and replacement of the existing Single Span Steel Pony Truss bridge over Sugarcamp Creek, SFN 4033019 , in accordance with the design build scope of services and all included specifications, proposal notes, attachments, and ODOT standard drawings. A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code amounting to 100% of the Bid Amount or a certified check, cashier's check or letter of credit pursuant to ORC Chapter 1305 in the amount of 10% of the Bid Amount must accompany all bids assuring a firm contract will be entered into upon acceptance of the bid. If a bid is accepted, the successful bidder shall file a bond for the amount of the contract. Bid security furnished in bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio. Bidders are required to be PRE-QUALIFIED WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION to submit a bid for this project. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept the bid which it deems to be in the best interest of Jackson County, even if it is not the lowest, to waive any formalities or irregularities in bidding, or to advertise for new bids if in the judgement the best interests of the county would be promoted thereby.
