Site work for a water / sewer project in Ogallala, Nebraska. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
**As of May 17, 2025 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on May 27th City Council meeting.** GST/South(Martian)/North Water Tank Maintenance Plan request for proposal to provide all labor, equipment, and materials needed to complete the following: Year 1: Ground Storage Tank - Repairs and Upgrades: _ Roof Vent: An AWWA approved aluminum "fail-safe" vent shall be installed at the existing roof flange. The flange shall be equipped with a gasket and the vent shall be attached with bolts. South Tank - Repairs, Upgrades and Interior Coatings: _ Safety Climb: The Contractor shall install ANSI approved cable style safety climb systems on the exterior ladders. _ Balcony Handrail: The Contractor shall make modifications to the existing tank balcony by raising the handrail to a 42" height. The handrail shall include a kick-plate and mid-rail and be in accordance with OSHA standards. _ Overflow: The existing overflow pipe shall be raised to 12-24" from grade. Pipe shall be equipped with non-corrodible screen. _ Roof Vent: The Contractor shall install a 24" diameter fan flange on the tank roof. An AWWA approved aluminum "fail-safe" vent shall be installed at the flange. The flange shall be equipped with a gasket and the vent shall be attached with bolts. _ Interior Wet Handrail: The Contractor shall install a kick-plate at the handrail at the bottom of the interior ofthe tank bowl around the riser column opening. _ Seal Tank CP Ports and Openings: The contractor shall remove un-secured plates that served as covers for the cathodic protection openings at the roof area ofthe tank. These openings shall be seal welded with mild steel %" plates. _ RoofLadder Standoffs: The contractor shall secure rolling roofladder to sidewalls and tank roof by welding standoffs at approximately 8' intervals. _ Light Stand: The contractor will install a "T" shaped 2" angle iron stand near the center ofthe tank roof and weld to the roof as a means to attach navigation lights. _ Tank Interior Coatings and Caulking: The contractor will prepare the surface and "touch-up" coatings with NSF approved epoxy at the tank interior. Tank interior will be caulked with NSF approved urethane caulking material where necessary. North Tank - Repairs, Upgrades and Exterior Coatings: _ Safety Climb: The Contractor shall install ANSI approved cable style safety climb systems on the exterior ladders. _ Balcony Handrail: The Contractor shall make modifications to the existing tank balcony by raising the handrail to a 42" height. _ Roof Vent: The Contractor shall install a 24" diameter fan flange on the tank roof. An AWWA approved aluminum "fail-safe" vent shall be installed at the flange _ Interior Wet Handrail: The Contractor shall install a handrail at the bottom ofthe interior ofthe tank bowl around the riser column opening. This handrail shall have a 4" high kick-plate, a 24" high mid-rail and a 42" high top-rail and in accordance with OSHA standards. Seal Tank CP Ports and Openings: The contractor shall remove un-secured plates that served as covers for the cathodic protection openings at the roof area ofthe tank. These openings shall be seal welded with mild steel !4" plates. The abandoned pipe located below the roof hatch will be removed and the opening seal welded. _ Roof Ladder Standoffs: The contractor shall secure rolling roof ladder to sidewalls and tank roof by welding standoffs at approximately 8' intervals. _ Light Stand: The contractor will install a "T" shaped 2" angle iron stand near the center ofthe tank roof and weld to the roof as a means to attach navigation lights. _ Tank Interior Coatings and Caulking: The contractor will prepare the surface and "touch-up" coatings with NSF approved epoxy at the tank interior. Tank interior will be caulked with NSF approved urethane caulking material where necessary. o Surface Preparation: High pressure water blast all areas with a minimum 3500 - 5000 lbs. psi, utilizing an orbital tip to remove chalk, loose paint and other contaminants. Rusted or Bare Steel: Prepare surface in accordance with SSPC SP 3- Power Tool Cleaning. Spot Prime: Tnemec Series 27 Typoxy. First Coat: Tnemec Series 1028 Endura-Tone. Logo/Lettering: Tnemec Series 1095 Endura-Thane. Replaced "as-is". Surface Preparation: High pressure water blast all areas with a minimum 3500 - 5000 lbs. psi, utilizing an orbital tip to remove chalk, loose paint and other contaminants. Rusted or Bare Steel: Prepare surface in accordance with SSPC SP 3- Power Tool Cleaning. Spot Prime: Tnemec Series 27 Typoxy. First Coat: Tnemec Series 1028 Endura-Tone. Logo/Lettering: Tnemec Series 1095 Endura-Thane (replace as is). Project specific inquiries will only be accepted via email to kevin.wilkins@ogallalane.gov. Four (4) copies of qualifications should be submitted to Jane Skinner, City Clerk by 3 PM on May 1, 2025. Qualifications for this project should be enclosed in a sealed envelope, marked "Repair/Maintenance of Water Tanks" and returned to: Jane Skinner, Ogallala City Clerk; 411 East 2nd Street; Ogallala, Nebraska 69153, prior to the above date and time.
