The purpose of this bid package is to provide the County of Ocean with a Contractor who will supply the materials or services described and specified herein. The County of Ocean (County) is seeking proposals from qualified forestry contractors to perform forestry mulching/thinning on County lands. This work is part of the County's ongoing forestry assessment and management practices, covering approximately 30,000 acres of Natural Lands Trust and Parks and Recreation Department properties troughout Ocean County. The goal of the work is to: Maintain healthy forests Improve critical habitat Mitigate hazardous fuels The County has successfully implemented numerous projects in the past six years, including those related to approved New Jersey Pinelands Commission Forest Stewardship Plans. The County anticipates further maintenance of completed projects as well as future work covered under additional plans pending approval by the New Jersey Pinelands Commission. The successful bidder (Contractor) will work closely with Ocean County Parks and Recreation, Ocean County Planning, and Solid Waste staff, in coordination with the current Forestry Consultant for the County. As the goals for each project may vary, the Contractor will be responsible for reviewing project locations, boundaries, and post-thinning goals in collaboration with the County staff. All access points, staging areas, and flagging will be agreed upon before the start of each project.
