Site work for an educational facility in Vacaville, California. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.

New portable buildings: Not-In-Contract / Owner Furnished: (1) 24x40 Stockpile Portable Classrooms; (1) 12x40 Restroom Portable; (1) 36x40 TK Portable Classroom. This bid package is for contractor to construct associated site work and utilities to new owner furnished portable buildings. The scope includes providing survey points for the owner-furnished buildings to be placed, preparation of the building pads to accept these buildings, PC ramps, skirting around ramps, signage, window coverings, carpet, VCT and walk off mat, installation of owner furnished accessories, whiteboard installation, chain link fencing, technology and low voltage, fire alarm, Pelican thermostats and programming, ADA upgrades to site. Kindergarten area revisions include demolition of existing playground, surfacing, footings, sub base. Installation of new footings sub base, pour and place and new owner furnished play structures. New asphalt and landscaping. Alternates include: 1-Paving in front of existing five portables. 2 Fourteen Portable Classrooms Improvements that include carpet replacement, ceiling tile replacement, interior/exterior painting; window covering replacement, electrical outlets and covers. Notice is hereby given that the Project is subject to the requirements of Public Contract Code section 20111.6 as project funded under the Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act of 1998 or a project that involves a projected expenditure of one million dollars ($1,000,000) or more and is funded from a state school bond. As such, the District in the following license classifications: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, -36, C-38, C-42, C-43 and C-46, whether will accept Bids only from Bidders prequalified by the District. In addition, any electrical, mechanical, and plumbing subcontractors (as defined by Public Contract Code section 20111.6(k) and all subcontractors holding a class A or B license that will perform any type of work covered by the specialty licenses listed in section 20111.6(k)) must be prequalified by the District. The type of work for which subcontractors must be prequalified is the work encompassed performed by a contractor with a Class C license or a Class A or B license. A list of prequalified contractors and electrical, mechanical, and plumbing Subcontractors is posted on the District's website Contractors and subcontractors that are required to be prequalified are required to submit prequalification packages no later than thirty (30) days prior to bid date or within five (5) days of the last bid advertisement if advertised less than thirty (30) days before bids are due, but no later than ten (10) business days before bids are due. The District will not consider any Bid in which the Bidder, or any Subcontractor that was required to be prequalified, is not actually prequalified within five (5) days before the bid date. If the bidder will not perform the mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing (MEP) work itself, then a prequalified MEP subcontractor must be listed on the subcontractor listing form, including specifically identifying mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing in the "portion" of work. Contractor License Classification Required: Class A or B Attendance for duration of meeting is mandatory and each prime contract bidder (referred to as "Bidder" or "Bidders") shall be required to certify, as part of its Proposal Form, that it attended the entirety of the Pre-Bid conference. Failure to include the certification will render the bid non-responsive. Failure to attend the mandatory, Pre-Bid conference waives the right to submit a bid. For all Pre-Bid visits (other than the Pre-bid conference), Bidder must make an appointment with the District Representative prior to visiting the Site. Overall coordination of the Project will be the responsibility of the District Representative. All inquiries regarding the bid are to be directed to District Representative, James Watson, JamesW@capitalpm.com. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by Cashier's Check, Certified Check or Bid Bond from a surety authorized to do business in California for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Combined Base Bid Amount, including additive Alternate Bids, made payable to the District. The above-mentioned check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder shall, if selected by the District, execute the Contracts, in conformance with the Contract Documents. Bids shall not expire for a period of 90 days after the date set for the bid opening. Within ten (10) days after notification of the District's Notice of Intent to Award the Contracts, the successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and Material Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond for each Contract. The District has set an overall goal for this Project that Bidders obtain a minimum of 3% of their bid amount in participation by certified Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises ("DVBE"). The participation may be through work or supply of materials. If a Bidder is unable to obtain the full 3% participation by one or more DVBEs, then the bid may be found responsive only if it establishes "good faith efforts" to meet the goal. The requirements for good faith efforts are set forth in Special Provisions Section 00 8000, Article 4 and the attachments thereto. The successful Bidder shall be required to pay its workers on this Project a sum not less than the general prevailing rate (applicable at time of bid advertisement date) of per diem wages and not less than the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work for work of a similar character in the locality in which the Project is performed, as provided under California Labor Code Sections 1726-1861. Copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages are on file at the Vacaville Unified School District, 401 Nut Tree Road, Vacaville, CA 95687, and shall be made available to any interested party upon request. The governing board of the District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any irregularity in any proposals received.
