Renovation of a swimming pool in Hope, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.
The Fraser Valley Regional District ("FVRD") is seeking proposals from qualified proponents ("Proponents") in response to this request for proposals ("RFP") for the replacement of sand filters at the Dan Sharrers Aquatic Centre (DSAC). The project involves removing the existing sand filters and installing new, replacement filtration for each of the pools during the facility's annual shutdown period from mid-August to mid-September to avoid disruptions to operations. The DSAC consists of multiple aquatic facilities including: Main Competition Pool - a 25-meter pool with six lanes and 600,000 litre capacity; Leisure Pool - a 25-meter pool with a lazy river, bubble pit and 120,000 litre capacity; and Hot Tub - a 10-person basin with 12,000 litre capacity. The selected proponent will be responsible for supplying and installing new, high-efficiency filtration systems to maintain water quality and ensure compliance with all regulatory The pool filter replacement services include: Removal and disposal of existing sand filters in accordance with all environmental and safety regulations; supply and installation of new, high-efficiency, improved media filters for the main competition pool, leisure pool, and hot tub; ensuring new filtration systems meets BC Health Act and applicable pool safety regulations; provision for all necessary permitting and trade work including plumbing and electrical; provision for fitting, finishing and any modifications required to integrate new filtration systems with existing infrastructure; completing start-up testing and system commissioning to ensure full operational status; provision for maintenance manuals and DSAC staff training on filter operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; provision of a minimum, five (5) year warranty on equipment, parts and labor; allowance for details and specifications outlined in Schedule A below; and completion of all work during the annual shutdown period between August 15, 2026 and September 12, 2026.
