1 Area of Work: Building: Cyrville Depot, Wood and Welding Workshop, Roof replacement 2 Address: 1951 Cyrville Road, Ottawa, Ontario 3 Business Entity: 1182 2 Compliance with the schedule identified by the City of Ottawa in the tender documents is mandatory. 3 The work of this project includes the provision of all labour, materials, equipment and services required to the removal and replacement of the existing roof system and new ventilation systems. The new roof system and ventilation systems shall be installed as indicated on the drawings, specified herein, in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and as required for a complete project. 4 This project includes the removal of the existing, and installation of new, prefabricated, insulated, metal roof assembly. This work shall include: .1 Supply of shop drawings for the new insulated metal roof assembly. 2 Removal and disposal of the existing metal roof assembly, roof area 1. 3 Installation of a pre-fabricated, insulated metal roof panel. .4 Installation of all required sheet metal flashings that integrate into the new roofing assembly. 5 Installation of a new ventilation fan. .5 The Contractor's bid amount shall include all costs and fees necessary for the removal, transportation and disposal of all construction waste and debris from the site, to a disposal facility authorized to receive construction waste. .6 Provide all necessary vertical hoisting/lift equipment required to facilitate the removal of the existing and installation of the new roof systems. 7 The Contractor's bid amount shall include all costs and fees necessary to supply, install and maintain temporary protection on site. The Contractor shall install covered hoarding on the ground floor level to allow safe access and egress to the building (two location). The Contractor shall supply and install all required temporary safety measures and systems including: 1 Covered hoarding at all entrances and exits. 2 Use of a covered disposal shoot will be mandatory on this project. .3 Perimeter guard rails at the roof level with screen installed. 4 Temporary fencing, minimum 8' high, around the perimeter of the set up, work and storage areas designated by the City of Ottawa. Contractor to include the installation of screening on the fencing. 5 Signage, in both official languages. .8 The Contractors price shall include supply, maintenance and removal of temporary washroom facilities for the duration of the work. 9 Submit product shop drawings, MSDS and material data sheets as outlined in Section 01 33 00 Submittal Procedures. The work of this Section includes the provision of all labour, materials, equipment and services required to remove the existing roof assembly within the designated roof area. and install a new prefabricated, insulated, metal roof panels, as indicated on the drawings, as specified herein and as required for a complete roof assembly. The areas of work has been delineated and identified on the drawings. 2 In general, the scope of work includes: 1 Removal and replacement of the existing metal roof system atop Roof Area No. 1. This work shall include: 1 Tarping the interior equipment, materials and supplies within the building, below the roof system to be replaced (roof area 1). 2 Removal and disposal of the existing roof system within roof area 1. 3 Installation of a new prefabricated, insulated, metal roof system in roof area number 1, as indicated and detailed within the design drawings. 4 Installation of a new sheet metal flashings, trim and accessories. 2Accessories including fasteners, perimeter trim and penetration treatments. 3 Installation of rain gutter on the cast/front elevation of the building. 4 Installation of snow and ice guards as detailed within the design drawings. 5 Installations shall include all necessary labour, material, equipment, accessories, sealants, flashings and trim required to complete the Work, as defined within the Contract Documents. 6 Installation of new ventilation fan and control systems. See mechanical /electrical drawings. 3 The City of Ottawa staff will require daily access into the portion of the building below roof areas 2 (with the modified bitumen roof system), located to the north of roof area number 1. The Contractor shall install covered hoarding to allow access to this area of the building. 4 Any request for the use of a substitute material must be submitted in writing to the City of Ottawa and Consultant. The written request must be received by the City of Ottawa. and Consultant at least ten (10) days prior to tender closing. Contractor is to allow 2 working days for review of the alternate material by the Consultant. Any submission of a substitute material must meet the material and performance standards specified herein. Written submissions must include all required technical data sheets and relevant testing data. Failure to supply all required material data sheets and testing data shall result in denial of the substitute material(s). Submission shall include: A complete item-by-item description comparing the proposed substitution to the specified system. 2 Manufacturer's literature, samples, test data, engineering data and performance evaluation from a firm accredited in Canada, indicating compliance with the specified standards and material properties. A bid deposit of ten percent (10%) of the Contract Price, in the form of an electronic bid bond, is required with this RFT.
