Concrete Channel Lining Repairs of Spring Branch Creek from Bracher Street to Pech Road for the Harris County Flood Control District Deadline to submit Questions Mar 21st 2025, 12:00 PM CT Project Description The existing concrete liner channel (Section approximately 3,660 linear feet long) between Pech Rd (downstream STA 25+00) and the upstream limit at Henry Froener Park (STA 62+00) will be improved. The concrete channel improvements (Channel ID: W140-00-00) are based on visual findings and assessment of the onsite 2019 Deficiency Inspection Report provided by our client. The 2019 deficiency inspection report (attached as Appendix G) includes photos depicting problems of several panels damaged at expansion joints, small to very large voids or some panels swelling (elevating). There are also utilities running parallel and across the channel as well as low pipeline crossings. 3.2 Scope of Work The scope of the geotechnical investigation was to conduct field investigation, perform laboratory testing, and provide geotechnical recommendations for the HCFCD open channel repairs. ATL performed soil drilling and sampling of six (6) soil borings (near the high banks of the channel) along the channel alignment. ATL collected and evaluated subsurface soils samples from the borings; and observed groundwater conditions at the time of drilling. Detailed scope of the study includes the following tasks: o Review available geologic and geotechnical data pertinent to the project site. o Investigate the subsurface conditions after drilling and sampling six (6) geotechnical borings to depths of approximately 15 feet below the high bank of channel surface with a truck-mounted drill rig, in accordance with ASTM Standards. o Performed geotechnical laboratory tests on selected soil samples obtained from the borings in accordance with ASTM Standards. o Provide subsurface properties and groundwater information. o Provide geotechnical design improvements and reconstruction recommendations for the proposed HCFCD open channel. o Provide construction monitoring recommendations. The authorized scope of services did not include either an environmental site assessment or a detailed geological fault study
