Capital Projects at the University of California, Berkeley (the University), invites statements of qualification for special inspection and testing services for the Bancroft Parking Structure. The Bancroft Parking Structure is a new 8-story pre-cast concrete hybrid moment frame structure that will replace an existing parking structure at 2643 Bancroft Way. The new parking structure is approximately 220,000 square feet and will accommodate 660 parking stalls and secured bike storage parking. Structural beams and columns will be pre-cast at the Clark Pacific Precast plant in Woodland, CA while foundations and topping slab will be cast-in place concrete. Foundations are grade beams over an Auger Cast Column Ground Improvement System. Clark Pacific's Woodland Plant is an approved fabricator for the precast elements of this project and precast inspection as required by CBC 1704.2.5.1 & 1704.5 are excluded from the scope of work of the testing and inspection firm. Construction is anticipated to start May 2025 and be completed by August of 2026. The University will review proposals and rank the three most qualified Consultants. The ranking shall be based on the criteria listed below. The order in which the criteria appear does not indicate the importance or weighting of the criteria. 1. Proposed staffing approach to the project. 2. Past experience of the firm in performing similar projects. 3. Experience of staff to perform the services required by the Project. 4. Prior experience that demonstrates success in completing projects consistent with schedule and technical requirements. 5. Coordination and supervision. Evidence of ability to provide efficient and comprehensive management for timely testing and inspections. 6. Recognition of the need to work harmoniously with University and General Contractor's staff. 7. Ability to manage complex projects and effectively coordinate with the University and General Contractor. The University requires the services of a testing and inspection firm to act as the Owner's Testing Laboratory for the purpose of reviewing material and product reports and performing other services in order to ensure compliance with the contract documents including, but not limited to documents enclosed herein.
