Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bloomington, Illinois. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
**As of May 13, 2025 bids for this project has been rejected. As of this time it is unknown if and when project will rebid. In general, the proposed improvements for the Base Bid include: Demolition of the existing sidewalk and street pavement on Main Street, from Jefferson Street to Locust Street. Construction of new sidewalks and street pavements, including concrete, asphalt, and decorative clay pavers. Installation of various streetscape amenities, such as new decorative lighting, curbed planters, benches, and landscaping. Construction of a new storm sewer system and the decoupling/removal of existing storm sewer laterals from an existing combined sewer, resulting in a segregated storm and sanitary system. On the 600 block of North Main Street, construct an underground stormwater detention system. Above the detention system, construct a plaza comprised of pervious clay pavers, as well as amphitheater seating, and support columns for a large, structural lighted ring feature. Support columns for a raised, lighted ring are included, but not the ring itself. In general, the proposed improvements for Alternate #1 include: The installation of a structural, lighted ring, not including the ring support columns. In general, the proposed improvements for Alternate #2 include: The installation of a "rough in" system for a future fiber optic network, consisting of conduit, microduct, and handholes.
