The Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the hauling and disposal of catch basin cleaning and street sweeping material collected by the department's maintenance operations. In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, section 39M, Paragraph (a), as amended in 1976, all bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or a certified check or treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Wellesley. The bid deposit shall be not less than 5% (five percent) of the total bid price. No such envelope shall contain more than one bid. All bids for this contract are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, inclusive. Every contractor or sub-contractor on public works projects is required to submit a certified payroll to the Town of Wellesley every week in accordance with M.G.L. c. 149, S27B. The Department of Public Works reserves the right to accept any bid item or reject any and all proposals, as in its sole judgment, the best interest of the Town of Wellesley would be served by so doing.
