SCOPE OF WORK Bid price shall include all charges for the purchase and delivery of the material and its application by a selfpropelled unit, which will spread and initially compact the material to the desired depth. The bid price will also include the cost of final compaction with a 10-12 ton roller, spreading a tack coat of RS#1, evenly distributed by a mechanical applicator (not by hand), and sealing with an emulsion at each intersection, driveway, and terminus and at the beginning of the application. Such sealing shall be done prior to beginning the next day's work. The Hot Mix Asphalt shall be applied at various thicknesses as directed by the Town. This material is to be laid over a base shaped and leveled by others or as a part of this contract, and any changes in the elevation of a manhole or catch basin frames to be done by others. The estimated number of gate box covers to be adjusted to the required grade in the paving program is plus or minus 100. Most of these water gate box tops shall be adjusted to required grades by others. However, certain water gate box tops cannot be adjusted to required grade and held in position for a prolonged period of time and must be adjusted and securely held in place by the Contractor at the time of paving operations. If extenders are required in order to adjust these certain water gate box tops to grade, the extenders will be supplied by the Town of Wellesley.
