Site work for a road / highway in Williston, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The Town of Williston is seeking bids for road line painting. The contract includes 68,745 feet single white edge lines and 31,256 double yellow centerlines. Some of this to be done before June 15, 2025. Please contact the Public Works Director Bruce K. Hoar, either by email at bhoar@willistonvt.org or by phone at (802) - 878-1239, with any questions. Description: Road lines will be applied in conformance with the latest version of the "Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices" (MUTCD) or as closely to the MUTCD as is possible as interpreted by the Town. The lists of roads and locations will be supplied to the winning bidder. Bidders must provide list of previous experience of at least 10 years upon request for similar municipal projects Materials: The contractor shall use chlorinated low VOC traffic paint and or approved water based traffic paint and glass beads. Paint shall be applied at 15 mils. Glass beads shall be applied at 6 pounds per gallon. Application shall comply with Vermont AOT standards. Equipment: The contractor shall furnish a self-propelled fully automated pavement marking vehicle designed for this purpose and capable of applying markings in a true line and of even consistency with a minimum of spillage and overspray. The contractor shall furnish qualified operators and will be responsible for all movement of the equipment. The equipment shall be fully maintained and in good condition at all times throughout work. All other equipment incidental for the performance of the work described must also be supplied by the contractor. Line Location: On new pavement the lines shall match the existing pavement lines. Method of Measurement: The quantity for payment will be the actual number of linear feet of acceptable pavement markings applied to the described streets/highways and as directed by the Town. Double yellow lines for center lines will be measured as a single line, meaning the linear foot bid will account for both lines. The contractor shall bill the quantities provided by the Town, unless the contractor disputes a measurement. If the contractor questions a length provided by the Town, the contractor shall notify the Town and an attempt will be made to confirm the measurement. Basis For Payment: The unit price bid per linear foot shall include the cost of furnishing all of the labor, equipment, equipment maintenance, and materials necessary to accomplish the described work. Start & Completion: This bid is for Spring FY 25 work which must be completed by June 15th 2025 and billed by June 30th 2025 & FY 26 which starts July 1, 2025 and all work must be completed on or before October 15, 2025, unless otherwise agreed to by the Town. This most likely could involve roads not yet paved as part of our paving contract. Notice of Work: The contractor shall give the Town DPW 1 weeks' notice before starting work. Start date to be approved by Williston DPW and might need to be adjusted to work with paving schedule. Quality Control: The Town reserves the right to conduct panel tests to verify specified thickness, as well as resistance to bleeding, discoloration, and water disintegration as outlined in AOT Standards Section 708.08.
