The CDPHE laboratory provides critical testing services for various needs and consequently cannot close during construction. So, contractors are going to have to work with the lab to schedule their work to ensure lab operations continue, and any required DI interruptions are minimized and scheduled. This project is going to replace the DI plant, tank, pump, supply/return lines, and end-use faucets. DI water is required by the various lab spaces for testing and need steady access to it. The plan is to install the new supply and return lines to the labs through hallway space as to minimize interruptions to the lab operations. Once the new supply and return lines are placed, we can work the labs to shut off their access and tie in their faucets. Lab spaces can go without DI water supply for short periods of time by filling and transporting containers from other areas. There will have to be a building-wide outage when the plant and tank are replaced, and that outage would be best to happen over a weekend.
