Site work for a water / sewer project in Norwich, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project consists of providing new exterior and interior coatings systems on an existing 400,000-gallon spheroidal water storage tank, a new aeration and mixing system, a new wood framed equipment building, and other ancillary improvements. The Work will include rehabilitation of the existing tank, including removal and disposal of existing coatings systems on all exterior steel surfaces and interior steel surfaces (i.e., interior surfaces of tank ball), providing new coatings systems on all exterior steel and all interior steel surfaces of the tank, and ancillary improvements to the tank inlet/outlet pipe, overflow pipe, roof vent, access ladders, and other miscellaneous improvements. The Work will also include providing a new aeration and mixing system to remove TTHMs from the potable water stored in the tank, including a new surface floating aerator, tank mixer, roof-mounted blower, and an equipment shed to house the new control panels and other electrical and SCADA equipment. Rehabilitation and Improvements to the Water Storage Tank at Yantic in Norwich, CT Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per calendar day shall be assessed upon failure to meet the milestone dates stipulated for substantial and final completion. To the extent that timelines may overlap, the assessment of liquidated damages will be limited to the contractually prescribed rate of $1,000 per calendar day. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Womens Business Enterprise (WBE) policies of the State of Connecticut are applicable to this Contract. In accordance with the goal conditions established in the June 19, 2019, Clean Water Fund Memorandum 2019-003, the requirement for MBE/WBE subcontractor participation, expressed as a percentage of the total contract amount, shall be a minimum of 8.0 percent, with the following makeup: MBE 3.0 percent and WBE 5.0 percent. A Bid Surety in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid is required at the time of bid. Bid Surety shall be in the form of a Bid Bond provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut, Certified Check or Bank Check NPU reserves the right to reject any bids, in whole or in part, to waive minor irregularities in the bidding and to award the bid to other than the low bidder if deemed in the best interest of NPU
