Knox County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking to retain a vendor to provide Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Services for the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Phase 2 Project. This project involves the installation of equipment upgrades at thirteen (13) traffic signals along the Maynardville Pike corridor and two (2) intersections at N. Watt Rd and I-40. All intersections are subject to additional video detection and the installation of dedicated short range communications (DSRC) units as well as signal timing optimization. Four (4) intersections will require cabinet replacements, new controllers, battery backups and cell modems. The work includes but is not limited to the following: A. Inspecting work performed by the contractors and ensuring all work conforms to Knox County / TDOT specifications B. Recording all details/quantities in a daily inspection report C. Reviewing and approving pay applications D. Performing all necessary environmental inspections All CEI Services must be performed in accordance with the latest edition of the TDOT Standard Specifications for Roadway and Bridge Construction and the latest edition of the TDOT Local Government Guidelines for the Management of Federal and State Funded Transportation Projects. Consultant invoicing and payment for services will be administered by Knox County in accordance with TDOT guidelines.
