As of September 25, 2025, the owner is signing award documents and preparing for construction. A construction manager has been selected. Construction is expected to start in the first quarter of 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Springdale Department of Engineering of Springdale, Arkansas ("Owner") is accepting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified construction management firms licensed by the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board interested in acting as the construction manager at-risk (CMAR) contractor ("CMAR Contractor") for the Sunset Avenue and Powell Street Improvements Project (the "Project"). CMAR Contractor will provide pre-construction services pursuant to the scope of services set forth in Exhibit 1 - Preconstruction Services Scope of Work The scope of work for construction services includes: widening of Sunset Avenue for approximately 0.23 miles from Shipley Street to Turner Street (including a three lane roadway section, on street parking, new curb and gutter, enclosed drainage system, access control improvements, and sidewalk/sidepath construction), intersection improvements (two, single lane roundabouts) at the Sunset/Holcomb/Turner intersection, the extension of Sunset Avenue along a new alignment for approximately 0.38 miles from Turner Street to Powell Street (including a three lane roadway section, curb and gutter, enclosed drainage system, and sidewalks/sidepaths), new intersection (single lane roundabout) at Sunset and Powell Street, the widening of Powell Street to a three lane roadway section for approximately 0.67 miles from Charles Avenue to Woodridge Drive, intersection and signal improvements at the Powell Street and E. Robinson Avenue intersection, and a grade separated (tunnel) Razorback Greenway trail crossing of Robinson Avenue.
