Johnsburg Community Unit School District 12, McHenry County, IL will receive sealed bids from interested trade contractors to sealcoat all asphalt parking lots, drives, and asphalt play areas. Johnsburg School District 12 is soliciting bids to sealcoat all asphalt parking lots, drives, and asphalt play areas located at Johnsburg High School and the Johnsburg 3-8 Campus. Pavement striping which matches current striping is also included in this project. Payment of Prevailing Wages is required for this project. located at Johnsburg High School and the Johnsburg 3-8 Campus located at: 2222 W. Church Street and 2002 West Ringwood Road, Johnsburg IL 60051 This Project is Tax Exempt. The Board of Education of Community Unit School District 12 reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or waive any bid irregularities. Bidders failing to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the project, and the existing conditions may be rejected. Contractor shall record all pavement markings by photograph or drawing to maintain painting layout following seal coating. 2. Power-edge all grass away from edges of asphalt 3. Thoroughly weed whip and clean all asphalt areas to be seal coated so they are free of all dirt and debris. 4. Block off work areas while conducting work. B. Sealcoating 1. Apply commercial grade petroleum resin emulsion or equivalent which meets or exceeds the specifications of Neyra Force Asphalt Pavement Sealer. 2. The sealcoat should consist of two coats, with the first coat manually applied and the second coat sprayed according to the manufacturer's application instructions. 3. All sealcoating must be scheduled and coordinated with the Director of Operations to ensure notification of staff for use of alternative parking lots. Each site will require a minimum of (2) site visits to ensure alternative on-site parking is available for staff during sealing and striping. C. Striping 1. Restripe parking lots according to existing layout. 2. Striping must be done following sealcoating when the parking lot in not in use. 3. Striping must be scheduled and coordinated with the Director of Operations to ensure notification of staff for use of alternative parking lots. This project will be scheduled for completion between July 7th, 2025 and August 1st, 2025.
